Their Hardest Season Led to New Faith

Yui lives in Thailand with her husband and 5 children. They also support her elderly mother. 

Lately, Yui has been selling a small amount of prepared food to supplement her husband’s income as a delivery driver.  Then Pong broke his arm. Days later their daughter was hospitalized with dengue fever. “I had to take care of both my daughter and my husband, so I wasn’t able to work for 2 months. We had no income,” said Yui.   

The family found themselves deeply in debt from money they had to borrow.  11-year-old Sorn told us they often went hungry.

“Some days mom could only make a few eggs that she divided for my 4 siblings and me to eat. My parents did not eat those days. I felt sorry for them.”   

“It’s hard to watch your family suffer,” Yui added. “Every morning, I woke up with a pit in my stomach.  I felt hopeless. I could not see a way out.”  

Then a neighbor invited Yui’s children to an after-school program supported by Operation Blessing’s children’s program, Orphans’ Promise. Three days a week, they receive help with homework, enjoy healthy meals, and watch episodes of CBN’s Superbook. We also gave the family some emergency food. 

Then, thanks to YOU, Operation Blessing gave Yui food supplies, a freezer, and other equipment to expand her food business. Thanks to your help, they can prepare a hundred meals at a time for large events, along with the food they sell at the stall. Yui told us they’ve paid off their debt, and her children no longer go hungry. “Our children have plenty to eat! We also saved up and bought a motorcycle for deliveries. Our lives are filled with purpose. Thank you so much for helping our family!”
