Their Home Was Destroyed, But They Miraculously Escaped
On March 28th, 2026, Iran launched a ballistic missile toward central Israel, striking Moshav Eshtaol during a birthday celebration for Dikla’s father. Twenty-four family members were gathered when their phones flashed with an emergency alert. As Dikla recalled, “We told all the kids to sit on the floor.” With no bomb shelter nearby, the family huddled in a downstairs interior corner, shielding the children with their own bodies as the missile exploded less than 100 yards away.
Reflecting on the terrifying moments of impact, Dikla shared, “Just inches away from us, things started flying between the kitchen and the living room. I remember the ceiling collapsing. I have to say, my son was ten and a half and was screaming the whole time, ‘I don’t wanna die. I don’t wanna die.’” Despite the ceiling collapsing and debris flying, the survival of all twenty-four people was labeled a miracle by the Home Front Command. Dikla noted, “Glass was flying everywhere but not a single piece, not even a tiny one, flew in our direction. The most important thing is that we're safe and sound. Property doesn’t matter.”
While they were unharmed, the blast destroyed the lower floors of their multigenerational home where Dikla’s family of six lived. CBN Israel moved quickly to assess the damage and provide critical aid, starting with food vouchers when the family needed them most, and later replacing the family’s destroyed stove to restore their ability to cook and gather together. Expressing her profound gratitude, Dikla stated, “The CBN organization, which has the amazing ability and this willingness to help people, in their moment, in their hardest crises, it really warms my heart.” Because of such dedicated support, families like Dikla’s are not forgotten, empowering them to rebuild and begin again.
Closing with a heartfelt message, Dikla added, “This is the time to say thank you. I’m speaking on behalf of all the people of Israel, and I'm sure they appreciate it. And I also say thank you, and I appreciate it.”
