Global Prayer Event 'Africa Returns' Calls on Christians to Pray for Revival Across the Continent Read Transcript

- A global movement ofprayer and repentance

that started lastSeptember in Washington DC

is making its way to Africa.

Africa Returns, a continent-wideevent covering five regions

in 15 states, will be simulcastSeptember 10th and 11th.

The event begins September 10th

at 5:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time,

simulcast from Ibadan, Nigeria, and goes until midnight,

followed by two more events on the 11th.

Reverend Kevin Jessip is president

of The Return Internationaland he's here to tell us more.

Reverend Jessip, this allstarted with The Return,

a prayer event held on theNational Mall in DC last year,

that was viewed by 42million people worldwide.

Tell us why you decidedto take The Return global.

- Well, after The Return in Washington DC,

which was not an event,

we were praying for a movement

of prayer and repentance around the world,

we had seen the degradationthat the nations,

including America, have declined into,

and we felt the Lord callingboth Jonathan Cahn and I.

We'd been planning thismovement for about five years.

And so after The Return in Washington DC,

where the remnant bride came together

from all around the worldand began to pray for mercy

in the midst of these redemptive judgments

that we see happening.

We prayed afterwards

that God would raise upleaders across the continents,

across the nations, to join the movement

in prayer and repentance called The Return

so we could return back to God.

Like Malachi 3:7 says,"'If you'll return to me,

I'll return to you,' says the Lord."

So we got a call from Dr. Sayo,

who I work with at Savethe Persecuted Christians,

and he was at The Return.

He was moved very deeply.

And there were young people allacross the nations in Africa

who started to do prayer marchesbased upon the fire of God

that entered them from TheReturn that happened in DC,

and they said, "Not in our nation

will we allow this to happen,

where we don't go back to theways of God and follow God."

And so there's a youth movement happening

all across 16 states in Africa

with their youth prayer marchesand they've been organizing.

Jonathan Cahn and I have been on the phone

with several thousand pastors

over the last several months in Africa

leading up to this day tomorrow.

- [Mark] Well, tell uswhat you hope to accomplish

through Africa Returns.

- Our prayer is that righteousness, truth,

and justice will prevailonce again in Africa.

We see what's happening acrossthe Africa with genocide,

especially in thepersecution of Christians.

We see a Islamic caliphate rising up.

We see Boko Haram

effectively running thegovernment of Nigeria

and we see Christians beingslaughtered over there.

And so, you know, in the last 100 years,

26 million Christians havebeen martyred for their faith.

That's more than the previous1,900 years combined.

And so we're watching this aswe're also watching the church

begin to arise with the spirit of Elijah

and finding its voice.

And so we believe that in themidst of the darkest storm,

yet this is when theLord is going to arise

for the sake of His ownname and begin to move.

So we're watching a righteousmovement through prayer

and repentance beginto swarm across Africa.

- And Reverend Jessip, howcan people participate?

- Well, they can go to TheReturn.org/live

and they can watch allthree broadcasts tomorrow

and on September the 11th and join in.

- And where are you headed nextafter you guys leave Africa?

What's next on the agenda?

- Well, eventually, we're goingthrough all the continents,

but we're ending up in Israel,

so we're working on The Return Israel.

After Washington DC, we got acall from Rabbi Yehudah Glick,

who just came here to Americaand spent two weeks with me.

He was the leadingrabbi inside the Knesset

and just a wonderful man of God.

He's an Orthodox Jew.

But he called us afterThe Return and he said,

"Brother Kevin," and I hadmet him previously in Israel

at the Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast

inside the Knesset in 2017.

We became fast friends.

And he said, "I've neverseen so many Christians

around the world prayingin the name of Yeshua

and blowing shofars.

Can you bring The Return to Israel?"

So as we go through Asia and Africa

and Australia and the Americas.

Eventually we'll end up in aculmination meeting in Israel.

And it's going to besomething completely different

than what we did in DC.

We're going to be celebrating,as Ezekiel 36 shows us,

the restoration of Israel as a nation,

the restoration of the EternalCity of Peace, Jerusalem,

which the scriptures saymust happen, and it has,

and the restoration ofthe people through aliyah.

And we'll be hosting propheticacts from all over Israel,

worship, and specified teachings.

It'll all become an app

similar to what people havecome to know as The Chosen app.

But all of these things, and then culminating

in a great, great, all thenations coming to Israel

to glorify the name ofJesus and lift up Yeshua.

- All right.

A lot on the plate forThe Return movement.

Thank you so much, Reverend Kevin Jessip,

for joining us and sharingabout Africa Returns

and what else you have on the horizon.

Many blessings to you and tothe upcoming movement events.

Thanks again so much

for taking the time to talk with us today.

- Praise God. Thank youso much for all you do.
