- Tech titan Steve Jobs oncesaid the most precious resource

we all have is time, and he's right.

Pastor Troy Brewer adds, "this resource is

"God's gift to us."

The problem, are we investing it properly?

And if the answer is no, we'reall overdue for a change.

- [Announcer] Many peopleare haunted by their past,

while others are paralyzedby anxiety about the future.

Troy Brewer, Pastor of Opendoor Church

near Fort Worth, Texas says

believers can have peace about both.

Troy explains that ourpast sins have been erased

and the pain of trauma, abuse,

and heartbreak can be redeemed.

In his new book "Redeeming Your Timeline,"

Troy shares how every momentof our lives is securely

in the palm of God's hand.

- Pastor Troy joins us now via Skype.

Welcome to The 700 Club.

- Thank you, Wendy, what a privilege.

- Well you came acrossa quote from Einstein

that changed your life.

And the quote is, "Time isGod's way of keeping everything

"from happening at once."

What does that quote mean to you?

- Well, whenever I first heardthat years and years ago,

I thought, "I wonder whyGod doesn't want everything

"to happen at once.

"Why doesn't He just doit and get it over with?"

And it's like no,actually, the Lord values

the process of relationship.

He has a tremendous value for that.

In fact, the Lord risks just everything.

He just risks it allfor the sake to be able

to have relationshipwith us and it started me

on this journey oflooking at what is time,

how does time work, where does time begin,

where does time end, and wherewe at within the timeline.

And whenever I first discoveredthat time is God's way

of keeping everythingfrom happening at once,

I also discovered thattime is the only place

that you can say thatwas then and this is now

and this is where I'mgoing to have a new future.

And then I actually begin to discover that

not only could I have a new future,

I could even have a redeemed past.

If the Lord could give me a future,

He can certainly give us a past.

I also found out that, that God is not subject

to time in any way whatsoever.

He has, like, Wendy,it's like a world clock

and we're that far away, that far away

from the return of King Jesus, Himself.

- And you say that God hasmade different kinds of time.

What do you mean by that?

- Well there is.

Now, we can understand timein a sense of, you know,

past and present, and future,

but there is alsoaccelerated time, you know,

the Lord will speed things up.

And I wanna tell you thecloser we get to the return

of King Jesus, the more things speed up.

If it seems like to you thata day is a whole lot shorter

than it used to be, it is.

It is a whole lot shorter.

As a matter of fact, the Bible says

in the Book of Revelationthat in the last days,

those days would be shortenedfor the elect's sake.

Things would be speed, they would just speed up,

they would be greatly accelerated.

There's also halted timewhere God can literally slow

down and stop time, again, forthe purposes of redemption.

But then I begin to discoverbiblically that there's

something that I liketo call redeemed time

and non-redeemed time.

And anytime in the Bible where it says

and once the time, or anytimein the Bible it says that

when the promises werefulfilled or when the time

had finally come, we'relooking at redeemed time.

Anytime it says and whenthe days had passed,

we're looking at non-redeemed time.

And it literally means this:

time is either a blessingor a curse, depending

upon our relationshipwith King Jesus in it.

Again, I think the closerthat we get to the return

of King Jesus, the more and more, and more

we have to partner withinour own timeframes.

- You called Jesus a time traveler.

What do you mean by that?

- (chuckling) Well, you know,He is not subject to time

in any way whatsoever andHe is a creator of time.

He's not, He's not fathertime, He's Father God

and whenever He created time,He created it in such a way

time, space, and matter, whichare in perfect continuum,

He created it in sucha way that He can step

in or He can step out anytime that He wants to.

One of the easiestexamples to see of that is

we see Jesus showingup in the Old Testament

before He was born in Bethlehem.

Like, how is that possible?

It's a lot like finding say, an iPhone

in some Egyptian coffin ormaybe finding a 747 3,000 years

before the Wrightbrothers ever took flight.

How in the world can wehave these Christophanies

or these pictures of Jesus,or the Lord showin' up

before He was actually born?

It's because He's not subject to time.

We also see it,

yes ma'am.- Real quick, you wrote it,

you wrote about a time about 10 years ago

when you had trouble with a church board

that you said almost literally killed you.

What did you learn during this time?

- Oh, I just learned that God is so good

because, you know, therewas a specific day that

that happened, a very, very, very specific day,

and the day was actually Flag Day.

And we had a big mess andthose kinds of things happen.

But the bottom line isthat two years to the day,

to the very specific day, the Lord opened

up a whole new campus, literally gave me a campus.

These people called meout of nowhere and said,

"Hey, I wanna give this to you,"

and it was two years to the day.

I learned that on that day thatthat was a prophetic marker

for me to understand thatthe Lord is Jehovah Nissi.

He is the Lord our Banner,

He is the Lord our Flag.

He is the Lord who showsup and changes the momentum

from things that are against us

to things that are for us.

Amazing.

- One of my scriptures is in Joel.

God says, "I will restore theyears that the locusts ate."

Can you give us, you know,

what is that scripture mean to you?

For me, I just love it.

It gives you hope that Godcan redeem time, even years.

- Yes, no, He certainly can.

Any place, Wendy, thatwe've had anything stolen

from us, that we've been rippedoff in some way or another,

any place that has beencursed, the presence

of King Jesus, Himself, canliterally change that, shows

up and actually restores, redeems.

And that's not just in the future.

It certainly is also in the past

as you just mentioned, this one very scripture

and there are lots of scripturesthat actually show this.

Now whenever He, whenever He says I will,

whenever He says, ittalks about this worm has

has destroyed a calendar, it's the picture

of having a calendar and having something

that actually destroy it.

He's like, "I will fill in those holes."

The presence of Jesus does that.

I mean, He says that was not a waste.

There is nothing in thekingdom of God that is wasted

if it's been redeemed.

- All right, well youcan get more great advice

from Pastor Brewer's latest book.

It's called "Redeeming Your Timeline"

and it's available nationwide.

Pastor Troy, God bless you.

Thanks for being on the show.

- The Lord bless you.

- Amen.
