700 Club Interactive’s Ashley Key and Gordon Robertson answer viewer questions about the spiritual gifts mentioned in the Bible and how Christians experience them in modern times. Read Transcript

- Well, it's my favorite time,

where I get to answerquestions from Ashley and have

a wonderful discussion.- Yeah, that's right.

- We started last week onspiritual gifts and we're-

- And we are continuing

that conversation.- We're gonna continue

and-- Yes.

So my first question for you-

- Okay.

- Is what is it that holds people back

from operating in those spiritual gifts?

- I think there's two main issues,

and the one that is probably the easiest

is you haven't been taught.

Nobody's said that you can do this.

I think another one has todo with "I feel unworthy."

- [Ashley] Hmm.

- You know, "Jesus came, and He came for me,

the dirty sinner, andso I'm this dirty worm,

and the dirt of the earth, and isn't it wonderful

Jesus came and He cleaned me up?

But now I'm a clean worm."

And instead of understandingyou're a joint heir

with Jesus Christ, andeverything Jesus did,

as He was in the world, so are we,

which is what the Apostle Paul wrote

to all believers, thatwe get to do what He did.

Jesus said that you getto do even greater things

than He did, which is, are you kidding?

But He says, "Greater works will you do."

So we don't come into our inheritance

because somehow we stillthink we're unworthy.

Here's a thought for you ifyou think you are not worthy.

Jesus thinks, believes, earnestly believes

that you're worth theprice He paid for you.

So why don't you think that, and realize

you're fearfully and wonderfully made,

and you are made in the image of God.

When He redeems you, He's redeeming you

back into the garden of Eden.

He's justifying you, which means it's just

as if you never sinned at all.

Get that thought, on that thought.

Be the child of God thatGod wants you to believe.

- Yeah, well, if someone's watching

and they're like, "Okay, I hear you,

I receive it, I wanna be taught,"

what would you recommend to them?

Do they go to their pastor?

Do they read a book?

Any recommendations?- Well, in today's COVID,

you know, you're gonna have some issues.

I did a spiritual gifts webcast years ago,

which is still up on CBN.com.

We also have some teachingsfrom Harald Bredesen

on how to receive thebaptism in the Holy Spirit.

I'll give a preview, a shameless promo,

Ashley and I are goingto start a new podcast

called "The Lesson" where we can get

into in-depth on some of these issues.

But there are resources out there,

and just go to peoplethat have had experience

with miracles and say,"I want to see that.

Jesus says we can see that.

I want to see that and Iwant to do that in my life."

Just keep in mind one keyfor activating any gift,

and that is faith works through love.

So if love is yourmotivation, then yippee,

go for it.(Ashley laughs)

If there's any othermotivation, take the warnings

of Apostle Peter to Simon very seriously.

Don't have another motivation.

If your motivation is,"I want to help people,

I want to build the body of Christ,

I want to serve others,"if that's your motivation,

then you're on really solid ground.

Any other motivation, I'm sorry,

it won't cut it, becausefaith doesn't work

through that other motivation.

It only works through love.
