would crush her small foodbusiness in Indonesia,

where she lives with her family.

From that, I earned about $12 a day.

Then people stopped buying food from me

because they were afraid of the virus.

- [Terry] Santee was forcedto shutter the business

and her income dropped to $1 a day.

Her husband, who workedas a motorcycle mechanic,

also lost his job.

- [Translator] I wasreally afraid I would not

be able to feed my daughter.

I was getting so desperate.

There were moments when I thought

it might be better if I died.

- [Terry] This is Santee'sseven-year-old daughter, Angel.

- [Translator] I was sad,

because I knew she worked really hard,

- [Terry] When CBN'sOrphan's Promise met Santee,

we learned that she could also sew.

We provided cloth, thread and a pattern,

so she could start making face masks,

which were in short supply in her town.

- [Translator] From making masks,

I was able to earn a large profit.

- [Terry] As the economy started to reopen

where Santee lives, she tookthe profits from the masks

and restarted her food business.

- [Translator] I now sell foodthrough Facebook or WhatsApp.

- [Terry] Santee reports herfood business has started

to rebound and that her husbandhas also found a new job,

repairing motorcycles.

- [Translator] I am grateful to God,

because now I am earning $8to $10 a day, selling food.
