DiploTech Summit: Bringing together Israeli Innovation and Global Diplomats  Read Transcript

- Okay, Ambassador Danon, thanks for joining us.

Tell us about this DiploTech Global Summit

you have in just a few days.

- Thank you for having me.

Indeed, we are reallyexcited about DiploTech 2020.

For the first time, wewill bring world leaders,

diplomats, to meet Israeli entrepreneurs

and to speak about life post-COVID.

We know that Israel is a startup nation,

and now we have todiscuss what Israel can do

to support other countries, mainly developing countries,

with our technologies.

We will hear from experts, from leaders,

like Ambassador Nikki Haley, and many other dignitaries.

- Well, Ambassador Danon, can you tell us what some

of those Israeli innovations are?

- We will have technologythat deals with post-COVID?

How can we work?

How can we study with the new reality,

and also, we're gonna havesome interesting developments

in the medical field.

We're all excited about the vaccinations.

So, it will be a combinationof medical experts

and also about daily life.

What we can do to help ourchildren to stay connected

to school remotely.

We know it isn't easy.

We know it's very challenging,

and what we can do in terms of workplaces.

We will hear from experts.

And also, we will see new Israeli startups

that are dealing with those issues.

- Well, Ambassador Danon, Iknow you have people coming

from Honduras, the Republic ofCongo, and as you mentioned,

Ambassador Nikki Haley.

Can you tell us who'sgoing to be participating

in this conference?

- It's a unique mixtureof friends of Israel

who value our friendshipand also understand

that we are here tosupport them, to help them.

And we see when we cooperatewith many countries,

we see the support inthe international arena.

You mentioned Honduras, for example.

We expect that, by the end of the year,

Honduras will announce thatthey're moving their embassy

from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and we appreciate that.

And that's what I believe.

I believe that when we investand when we build bridges,

eventually it supports thediplomatic relations we have

with more than 160 countries worldwide.

- In terms of the Abraham Accords,

a lot of people areexpecting the possibility

of Saudi Arabia joining the normalization

of relations with Israel.

Is that what you anticipate?

And if so, would that be a game-changer?

- We're expecting to seemore countries joining

the club of peace.

And we are grateful for PresidentTrump for initiating it.

We believe that President-electBiden will continue

with the process.

I don't know whether theSaudis will be the next one

in line, but I'm sure that theyare the most important ones

for the region, for Israel.

And they understand thatonce they will normalize

their relationship with Israel,

we will see much morestability in the region

and it will be a major force to block

the hostility coming from Iran.

- In general, what's your view

of the Abraham Accords, Ambassador?

- We think it's a great initiative.

We support them.

I think it deepens therelationship we have

with Egypt and Jordan.

It's not only treaties between leaders,

it's peace between people.

You know, I host people fromthe Gulf who come to Israel.

We see so many Israelis visiting the Gulf.

I think we can achieve a lot together.

And also in our summit, DiploTech 2020,

we will have speakersand guests from the Gulf.

- Yeah, is that one of thethe goals of the the summit,

to be able to incorporatethis new relationship

with these Gulf countries?

- Absolutely, and there is alot of interest from their side

about our technology, but it's a mutual,

it's a win-win, it's notonly us supporting them.

I have been there in thepast when it wasn't so easy

for Israelis to visit the UAE.

And I can tell you thatthey really have admiration

for our technology, and we have admiration

for their entrepreneurship,for their systems.

And I think together we can achieve a lot.

I invite the friends ofIsrael, the Jews, Christians,

the Muslims, everybody whosupports Israel to join us

for DiploTech 2020 and to become partners

in building the future together.

- Well Ambassador Danon, thanks for joining us.

Appreciate it very much.

- Thank you very much.
