- (indistinct) this electionseveral key Senate races

have been at the forefront as Democrats

ought to seize control of theupper chamber on Capitol Hill.

CBNC and correspondent Eric Phillips

joins us now with more, Eric.

- John and Jenna in all 23Republican held Senate seats

we're on the ballot thisyear compared with 12

held by Democrats creatinga dangerous playing field

for the GOP.

Democrats knew they only hadto flip three or four seats

to gain control of the Senate.

A huge win for Democrats came in Colorado

where Republican incumbent Cory Gardner

was unseated by John Hickenlooper.

- Your message is loud and clear.

It's time to put thepoisonous politics of this era

behind us and cometogether to move forward.

- [Eric] And in ArizonaDemocrat Mark Kelly

drove out incumbent Martha McSally.

- There's only one way we'regonna solve these problems

and that's by working together.

Now some of you watching tonight

did not vote for me and that's okay.

I'm gonna be your Senator too.

against democraticchallenger Theresa Greenfield

after a hard fought campaign.

this has been a very difficult year

and a very challengingelection for all of us.

People on both sides feel divided emotions

and those wounds are very veryraw but the election is over

and it's time to start the healing.

We need to turn down the rhetoric

and start listening once again.

- [Eric] It was a nailbiter in South Carolina

where Republican Senator Lindsey Graham

faced major opposition backed by big bucks

from Democrat Jamie Harrison

but in the end Graham isgoing back to Washington.

- Here is the message I got, people like what I'm doing

and I'm gonna keep doing it.

- [Eric] Democrats lost ground in Alabama

as Tommy Tuberville defeatedincumbent Doug Jones.

Jones won the seat in aspecial election back in 2017,

the first time a Democrat hadwon that seat in 25 years.

- Alabama welcome back tothe Republican US Senate.

- [Eric] It took until Wednesday afternoon

but Maine's contentiousSenate race was finally

called for Republican incumbent,Senator Susan Collins.

- Throughout all of thisextraordinary campaign

I have been strengthened

every day by the support and hard work

of each and every one of you.

- There are still someraces too close to call

including the one in North Carolina

between incumbent Thom Tillis

and Democratic challenger Cal Cunningham

and in Michigan wherea Democrat Gary Peters

is trying to beat backRepublican John James.

There are also two Senate races in Georgia
