- [Announcer] Ann Maxwellhad worked in auto sales
for over 30 years.
But in mid 2015, growingstomach pains began
to upset her career and her life.
- Started getting really sick.
And the initial diagnosiswas to remove my gallbladder.
They said that it wouldrelieve all my symptoms.
So I wasn't scared.
I was actually lookingforward to going in there
and hopefully get the healing.
- [Announcer] But after doctorsremoved Ann's gallbladder,
the symptoms only worsened andshe ended up losing her job.
- A lot of vomiting, a lot of diarrhea,
lots of really bad stomach cramping.
I ended up going to the emergency room.
My son took me.
He and I both thought that I was dying.
It was so severe and Iwas losing so much blood.
- [Announcer] It wasthen she was diagnosed
with degenerative ulcerative colitis,
a disease that causesinflammation and sores
in the digestive tract.
With no cure, Ann reliedon homeopathic remedies
to help manage her symptoms
as the illness proveddebilitating and disheartening.
- I was 57 and still loved life.
I loved working.
I loved to being out.
I loved cooking
and all those thingswere taken away from me.
So it was really hard.
And then I got further and further down
and just depression and darkness.
And, and I just becamealmost like a recluse.
It was almost like asentence of retirement,
like early retirement,
and you're just gonnahave to live with it.
- [Announcer] Shestruggled to keep new jobs
as her symptoms persisted,
and she experienced dramatic weight loss.
Seeking encouragement,
she turned to the Bible, sermons, and journaling.
- That was the only reliefthat I was really finding
for this was just studying scripture
and watching a lot of ministers,
writing a lot of notes aboutthe journey and the darkness,
but I, I didn't see a future for sure.
It was awful.
It was terrible.
It was the hardest partof my life, for sure.
My prayer started to be, Lord, take me.
I can't live with this.
- [Announcer] Ann applied for disability,
but was denied and wouldsuffer through her condition
for over four years whilestruggling to hold down a job.
But little did she knowthat on November 1st, 2019
a change was coming.
- Tried to go to work.
I couldn't.
I called in and let themknow I couldn't make it.
That's when you know, theytold me I was laid off.
Turned the TV on and I keep a timer
for when the 700 Club airs.
And so I flipped over and justwithin a couple of seconds,
Terry Mason came on withthe message of healing.
- There's someone else.
You have ulcerative colitisand it's so painful,
but today is your day.
Jesus is healing you.
And it's going to be notjust a little bit better,
it's gonna be gone in Jesus' name.
- I just lifted my handsand said, I, I take it.
I accept it, I claim it inthe name of Jesus Christ.
The symptoms stopped.
All of the pain went away.
And I felt hope for the firsttime in almost five years.
- [Announcer] And Ann continuesto be pain and symptom free.
She resigned from sales andturned her passion for cooking
into a profession as a private chef.
She also takes comfort in knowing
that no matter how bad things got,
the Lord never abandoned her.
- He was always there hovering over me.
I know that our HeavenlyFather and Christ Jesus,
the Holy Trinity,
the Holy spirit are totallyin control of my life.
I am not in control.
