- Hey, we're the Datskos.

- I'm Maksim.- And I'm Jessica.

And we just wanted toshare a little bit with you

about what got us (laughs).

- Hey, we're the Datskos.

- I'm Maksim.- And I'm Jessica.

And we just wanted-(both laugh)

We just wanted to share a little bit

about what we've been learning

throughout this wholecoronavirus situation.

And yeah, it's been real y'all.

- As you guys can see onsocial media, on the news,

everything is about thecoronavirus right now.

It's good to be aware. It'sgood to educate yourself.

But what I noticed isthere's almost like a pull,

it's trying to pull you and your attention

away from the Lord.

And so we just want to takethis time to encourage you

and talk about two types offear that we see in scripture

and that we've actuallypersonally experienced

here recently.

In Proverbs 1:7, it talks aboutthat "the fear of the Lord

"is the beginning of wisdom."

That being said, you know,we need to wash our hands,

be practical, do thingsthat the government

is instructing us to do.

It's not always easy,

it's not always fun, but Ithink it will help us curve

this virus that's spreading, you know, around the earth.

And then also the second type of fear

that we want to addressis in 2 Timothy 1:7,

Paul talks about the spirit of fear.

He says, "God did not giveus the spirit of fear"

but He gives the spirit ofpower, love, and a sound mind.

I think that's just so powerfulthat we can see in scripture

those two different types of fear.

And we know that the fear ofthe Lord is a reverence of God,

it's in the awe of God.

And then but there'salso this spirit of fear

that the enemy tries to pull us in.

It reminds me of Sam's Club recently.

We went to go get toilet paper.

We weren't trying to stock up.

We actually genuinely needed toilet paper.

I just noticed myself kindof almost getting into fear

while I was at Sam's Club.

Before we walked in, I'm like, Jessica,

make sure you don't touch your face,

make sure you don't touch your mouth.

Just be careful, okay.

- I wear glasses, so it's really hard

to keep my hands away from my face.

You know, I have to push them up,

or, if they get dirty, you got to wipe them.

- So in Sam's Club, I seeher take her little finger,

her little knuckle, and,Jessica, don't touch your face.

And then I kind of heardmyself, I'm like, whoa.

It was just this weirdbattlefield, mind, this warfare,

this tension, this pullof getting into fear

and falling into really almost faith

into a coronavirus and catching this virus

over the simple trusting Godand being practical, be wise,

but making sure I'm notbeing influenced by this fear

that the enemy is trying to put on us.

- And you just said something interesting,

faith in this coronavirus.

You told me a few daysago something really.

He said something reallymind blowing for me.

I'd never heard this before.

- Fear is faith in the ability

of something or someone to harm you.

- Yeah. So I was like, wait, what?

Like fear is faith.

And I was like, you know,we're trying to dissect that.

But then we started talking about how,

wait, what is faith?

It's belief, it's trust.

So then I went to Joshua4 and the Lord showed me

an example of this.

The people of Israel havejust crossed the Jordan River

with their leader, Joshua.

And he says to people,"For the Lord your God

"dried up the waters ofthe Jordan before you

"until you had crossed, justas the Lord your God had done

"to the Red Sea," when Moses was leading.

"Which He dried up beforeus until we had crossed;

"that all the peoplesof the earth may know

"that the hand of the Lord is mighty,

"so that you may fear theLord your God forever."

And then we see in the next verse, 5:1.

"Now it came about when allthe kings of the Amorites

"who were beyond the Jordan to the west,

"and all the kings of theCanaanites who were by the sea."

These are the kings in the Promised Land

that was promised to Israel.

"They heard how the Lordhad dried up the waters

"of the Jordan," until thepeople of Israel crossed.

"And that their hearts melted,

"and there was no spiritin them any longer

"because of the sons of Israel."

So here, we're seeing that,

we're seeing these two types of fear.

Again, we're seeing the fear of the Lord,

and we're seeing the spirit of fear,

which makes people's hearts melts.

In contrast, Joshua wastelling the people of Israel

the Lord is doing this.

His hand is mighty.

He's doing this "so thatall the peoples of the earth

"may know that the handof the Lord is mighty,

"so that you may fear theLord your God forever."

So, of course, we know that he's saying

fear of the Lord, awe, and reverence,

but if you also treat itas putting your trust,

putting your belief, puttingyour hope in the Lord,

then you can't help but do that

when you see the hand of the mighty God.

He parted the Red Sea. Henow parted the Jordan River.

Like, it's pretty great.

- That's right, it's a type of faith,

you're having faith in God.

When you're in awe of Him,when you're dwelling on Him,

and thinking about Him,it's a faith in God.

And I'm reminded of what it says

in the Message translationhere in Joshua 5:1.

And it's here talking aboutthe Amorites, Amorite kings

and, of course, the Canaanite kings.

And here in the latterpart of the verses it says,

"Their hearts sank; thecourage drained out of them

"just thinking aboutthe people of Israel."

The New Living Translationsays, "They lost heart

"and were paralyzed with fear."

Don't you feel that the coronavirus

is trying to paralyze you with fear

and the media, the news?

That's what's going on isI feel like there's a lot

of this fear that's tryingto infiltrate into the world.

And if you're not careful,it'll infiltrate into your mind,

into your thoughts, and in your heart.

And so we want to encourage you today

to not live in that type of fear,

do not live in the spirit of fear

where the devil triesto keep you paralyzed

and in bondage, but livein the fear of the Lord.

Put your faith in God and not a virus.

Put your faith in theLord and His healing power

and His ability and allowHim to be your anchor.

Allow Him to be your healer, allow Him to be your comforter

in these times.

- Yeah, and right now we'rein a very real situation

where most of us are havingto cease regular activity

with social distancing andquarantine and all of that.

And it can be, you know, easy

to fall into that paralysis of fear.

You know, just a paralysisof binging on things

that maybe you shouldn'tbe, or just, you know,

not really taking advantage of this time.

But in contrast, the spiritof God is inviting us

to be still in Hispresence, not paralyzed,

to be still in His presenceand know that He is God.

And I just love that because, when you're in His presence,

you see His majesty, His power.

You have awe and reverencefor Him, fear of the Lord.

But you'd know that youwere putting your faith

and your trust and yourhope in the living God.

And then also we're seeinghere in these scriptures

that, you know, the spiritof fear drains courage,

but the spirit of God, when you fear Him,

when you fear the Lord your God,

He gives you courage.- It brings courage. Yes.

- Yeah, and this is true.

This is, you know, Joshua'ssaying to the people of Israel,

you know, that the Lord is doing this

so that you may fear Him.

But this is the same Joshua whoa couple of chapters before,

God told him, "Be strong and courageous!"

"Do not tremble or bedismayed, for the Lord your God

"is with you wherever you go.."

And I just love that invitation.

(sighs) I want to justfocus on that, on His power,

His ability to heal,His ability to touch us,

to, you know, protect us.

And that no matter what,"Yea, though I walk

"through the valley of theshadow of death, you are with me.

"I will fear no evil."

And y'all, I want to put my focus on that.

- Amen.

That's so good.

God is with us.

Continue to put your faith inGod and not in anything else.

- And so together let'scommit to the fear of God

and not submitting to the spirit of fear.

We love you guys.

- We love you.- We'll see you soon.

- See ya soon.
