And I just want to tell everyone
watching the return andpraying for our nation
that one of my greatconcerns today is the sin
of racism that is still in our land.
It has taken numerousdeaths in police custody
to finally wake us up,that we have a problem,
but I want to show you from the Bible
how severe that problem isin the eyes of the Lord.
When you ask the average Christian,
why did God allow the King of Babylon
to take the city of Jerusalem?
You'll get a variety of answers.
But the answer from Jeremiahchapter 34 is slavery.
Now here in this chapter,Jeremiah goes through
what they had done.
Within the Bible, thereis this year of liberty.
You have it called the Jubilee.
Every seven years, all theslaves are supposed to be free.
And then every 50 years, everyone gets to be free
and all the debts get canceled.
And so they had not done that.
And they had made a decreeand declared emancipation
for all the slaves andthen to God's dismay
they backed off of it andthey re-enslaved their people.
And here's what God says,"Thus says the Lord:
'You have not obeyed mein proclaiming liberty.
Every one to his brother andeveryone to his neighbor.
Behold, I proclaim libertyto you,' says the Lord--
'To the sword, topestilence and to famine!
And I will deliver you to trouble
among all the kingdoms of the earth.'"
Let's take God's judgment seriously.
As we look at the pandemic,
as we look at the racialriots, as we look at wildfires
as we look at numerous hurricanes, and let us ask ourselves
is this because we stillhave the curse of racism?
Abraham Lincoln proclaimedfreedom to the slaves.
That was a long time ago.
And then do we take itback with the Black Codes,
with segregation?
We proclaim freedom again, with the civil rights act.
We even elected an AfricanAmerican president.
But in our churches today,is there still racism?
If you can look down theaisle and you don't see
someone of another raceI would submit that maybe
we need to be purposefulin integrating our churches
and no longer have 11:00AM on Sunday morning
the most segregated hourin American culture.
let's come together, andlet it start at the church.
And let's start a great revivalwhere we can have heaven
right here on earth.
In heaven, there's no racial divide.
Every language, everytongue, every people,
are all gathered together, worshiping the King of Kings,
worshiping the lamb.
So let's do that right now.
Let's resolve now, we'regoing to be purposeful.
We're going to integrate. We're going to be as one.
Let's pray.
Lord, we turn from any thought
that would excludeothers from our worship.
And we come together asone people, one nation,
and one accord, thatour heart and our desire
is to worship you.
Lord, let us be one, just asyou and the father are one.
Let us be one nationunder God, indivisible,
with liberty and justice for all.
Amen and amen.
