- [George] This week on"Christian World News",
a picture of two Americas.
In some parts of the country,
churches are forbiddento hold Sunday services.
Bibles are being burned in the streets.
And some fear secularism
is becoming a new God.
- [Wendy] But in someof those same streets,
revival is breaking out,
evangelists are holding services
and thousands are turning to Jesus.
- [George] And a survivor's story,
under Romania's communist regime.
She stood up for Christians
but when she offended the dictator,
her life was on the line.
- Welcome to "ChristianWorld News" everyone.
I'm Wendy Griffith.
- And I'm George Thomas.
Bibles burned, governmentdecrees against church gatherings
and growing hostility
against Christian values.
- Is this just a momentaryblip in our history
or is secularism a new religion
bent on taking over America?
Gary Lane has the story.
- Is the recent assaultagainst Christian values,
the beginning of a revolutionto transform America?
A number of signs
portray a nation on theedge of becoming a society
where instead of kneelingin prayer to our Creator,
people bow to a godless state instead.
In July, California Governor Gavin Newsome
moved to prohibit indoor church services
and put limits on home Bible studies.
Supporters of Newsome's orders say,
"Indoor church gatherings
"place people at risk ofcontracting COVID-19."
Appearing on this week'sepisode of the "Global Lane",
author and radio host Eric Metaxas
says Americans can't ignorea government overreach.
- We should not instantly say,
"That's an American,
"you can't do that in America.
"And by the way, we won't abide by that."
- [Gary] And Christians are pushing back.
Several thousand Californians
defied state COVID-19 restrictions
by attending and indoor service
at Sun Valley's Grace Community Church,
Pastor John MacArthur.
- Good morning everyone.
I'm so happy to welcome you to the
Grace Community Church peaceful protest.
(laughing and cheering)
- [Gary] Now the church and its pastor
are facing criminal charges
from the city of Los Angeles.
In turn they're suing the state.
Meanwhile, in Washington DC,
activists went unpunished
after painting thewords, defund the police,
beside a Black Lives Matter mural,
but Pro-life activists say,
"Mayor Muriel Bowser
"ordered police to arrest students
"for chalking Black Pre-born Lives Matter
on a public sidewalk."
- This is viewpoint discrimination
that she is choosing which phrases
she's allowing to bepainted on public streets.
And you can't do thatbecause of the constitution.
- [Gary] US Attorney General William Barr
told Fox host Mark Levin,
the American left is uninterestedin dialogue or compromise.
- The left wants power
because that is essentiallytheir state of grace
in their secular religion.
They wanna run people's lives so they can
design utopia for all of us.
And that's what turns them on.
And it's the lust for power.
- [Gary] Barr contends Antifa
and other Militant Marxists
are advancing the life's religion
by infiltrating peaceful protests,
utilizing urban guerrilla tactics
to force political change.
In Portland recently,
the American flag and Bibles were burned
in front of the federal courthouse.
Metaxas describes it
as an assault on Westernculture and human dignity.
- Christians should be
the most alarmed in the sense,
but everyone who has a stake in civility
what's best for the country.
- [Gary] And when Antifaradicals recently threatened
to tear down a 56 footcross in Eugene, Oregon,
several hundred Christiansgathered in prayer
to stop the attack.
New Hope College President,
Pastor Wayne Cordeiro says,
"that's when police successfullyturned away a busload
"headed to the college campus."
- Ultimately it's aspiritual battle, isn't it?
And so we have to drawa line and say enough,
we're going to stand onthe promises of God's Word.
We're going to take thisto prayer and praise.
And we're going to let the Lord
take on this battle
and begin to make a difference.
- [Gary] Gary, CBN News.
- Thanks Gary, well despitethe social uncertainty
and hostility towards Christians,
a spiritual awakeningis also taking place.
- Yeah, quite remarkable awakening.
Christians are holding,
as Wendy said, revival services
in the very cities where the darkness
is the deepest.
Charlene Aaron has the story.
- [Charlene] It's hard to imagine
that less than 200 milesfrom this scene in Seattle,
you see something like this in Oregon.
(crowd cheering)
A wave of revival is growing.
In Portland, thousandsof Christians recently
lifted their voices inprayer, praise and worship
for an event called, Riots to Revival.
An effort to heal the brokenness
resulting from the pandemic.
Just hours before
protestors lit fire to thiscity's police headquarters.
(upbeat music)
- [Charlene] SeanFeucht, has been a leader
of the Worship Movement.
- Watching God show up.
we've spent the last
15 years I have going into
a lot of really dark hardnations around the world,
North Korea, Iraq,Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia.
And now we get to do it in our own nation.
- [Charlene] In Seattle,
the area formerly known as CHOP or CHAZ
had become a focal point for protesters
who took over the neighborhoodearlier this summer.
Demonstrators basically tookover this part of the city
following the death of George Floyd.
A group recently tried to shutdown a prayer rally there,
but Feucht says,
"The power of God took over."
- The Lord started to move.
Even on some of the Satanists that came
God started to move.
We were able to pray andminister with a lot of them.
- [Charlene] In California,
where indoor worshipservices have been banned,
churches have been discovering
new ways to serve their communities.
Pastor Mickey Stonier
of San Diego's Rock Church,
shared on CBN's prayer link,
how God is using the pandemicto the church's advantage.
- We've had 135 churches in San Diego
come together.
We had a prayer event,
11 different locations.
We had over 15,000 people
around San Diego or online.
We call it, We Pray San Diego,
praying for an hour
for the Lord's His work,
His revival to be taking place.
- [Charlene] In July,
on the sandy shores of Huntington Beach,
hundreds came to worship,
pray and receive salvation
as part of an event called Saturate OC.
Many gave their lives to Christ
and were baptized.
Jesse Green, one of the event's organizers
also spoke with CBN News.
- [Jesse] People are just being set free
and there's so much joy
and so much peace
and people are beingset free from depression
and suicidal thoughts.
And it feels like what God
would always want the earth to look like.
- [Charlene] A similar outcome
recently played out in Chicago,
where deadly violence has been rampant.
A ministry called the Last Reformation,
flooded the city
through tent revivalsand street evangelism.
- There was hundreds of people
that went out in the street,
all different neighborhoods and areas.
People have been really receptive.
People were getting healed on the street,
they were coming back to the tents,
they were getting baptized.
They were giving their life to Jesus.
- [Charlene] Earlier this year,
a prayer and fasting movement
involving 1000 churchescalled Awaken Tennessee
sparked a revival thatlasted several months.
Pastors reported recordsalvation and mass miracles.
As a result of the Holy Spirit showing up
and taking over.
All reasons why Feucht hopesto take his mobile ministry
to even more cities.
- God is gonna flip thescript on these cities
that no place is too hard.
No places too is too dark.
- [Charlene] Charlene Aaron, CBN News.
- [Wendy] Amen, no place is too dark.
Well coming up,
held at gunpoint,
an outspoken critic ofher communist government
is targeted for assassination.
What happened when she came face to face
with her would be killer?
- I don't know if it has ever been a time
when our nation and the world
needed the miracle morethan we do right now.

Islamic extremists haveunleashed a reign of terror
in Northern Mozambique.
The violence has lefta number of churches,
burned to the ground,
people beheaded
and tens of thousandsdisplaced and traumatized.
Since 2017,
more than 1000 people have beenkilled in a violent campaign
against Christians inthe last four months,
those attacks have escalatednow more than 210,000 people
have been forced out of their homes.
Iris Global is locatedin Northern Mozambique,
and is ministering to theneeds of the people there.
- We're feeding people of all face.
We're loving people.
We're holding them in our arms
and we're giving them the besttreasure we can give them,
which is the Word of God
in audio, solar Bibles.
We're able to give them the Word of God
in their heart language.
So people who've been traumatized
by these radical insurgents
who are be heading.
So many have seen theirfamily members beheaded.
Some have been forced to eattheir own family members.
It's unbelievable what's happening,
but the love of Jesus
brings healing to these people.
- You can learn more aboutthe situation in Mozambique
at our website, cbnnews.com, Wendy.
- Wow, well an Islamic rebel group
arrested a Christian Syrian teacher
for refusing to surrenderhis school building
for Islamic training.
40 year old RodwinMohamad is the headmaster
of a school in Northwestern,
in a Northwestern Syrian village,
near the Afrin Province,
Christian Solidarity Worldwide reports,
he was arrested by a group of fileted
with a Muslim brotherhoodembarked by Turkey.
The pastor of a Curtis Church in Lebanon
says, "They fear Rodwin will be executed."
- Yeah, we need to pray for him.
The woman you're about to meet
was beaten and tortured for her faith.
She was an attorney
who fought for Christiansand communist, Romania.
- But when she personallyhumiliated the dictator,
she went too far
an assassin came to her office
and pointed a gun at her head.
Abigail Robertson tellsus what happened next.
- Virginia Prodan doesn't hide the fact
that she should be dead.
In her book "Saving my Assassin."
She tells the incredible story
of death staring her in the face
and how she fought back with nothing
but the Word of God.
- I am not a hero.
God gave me this mission andI was a tool in God's hands.
- Why did the Romaniangovernment want you to killed?
- Because I defended Christianand human rights cases
and government, socialists government.
It's a government whowill establish a system
where the government it's your God.
Not Christ.
- [Abigail] During dictatorNicolae Ceaușescu's rule,
in the 1980s,
Christians found with Bibles
or sharing Christ withothers were thrown in jail.
Even though the countryhad religious freedom laws.
- I was told in the interrogation room
that those laws were in
to protect freedom ofreligion, freedom of speech.
They were in the law books of Romania
for the Western civilization
to believe that we have freedom.
- [Abigail] But Virginia use those laws
to fight the government anyway.
- Later on I found out
that when I was in the courtroom
facing the judge and the prosecutors
behind me there were representative
from America, from France,Italy, Jewish, Israel,
all over the Western Europe
who will take notes andsend it to their government.
So for that reason
I'm alive and I'm not dead
because God protected me.
- [Abigail] Virginia caught the attention
of Western journalists
from places like FreeEurope and Voice of America.
- The government had to let me
be present at this.
Otherwise they had to respond.
Where is she?
What is the situation and so forth.
- [Abigail] But outside the courtroom,
the government took it to revenge
by beating and torturing her.
- I remember full of blood
full of pain as many of themare hitting me and so forth.
I looked straight up to them and I said,
"I don't really like what you're doing,
"but God loves you.
"And I choose to love you."
And they had to turn their faces
because they were crying.
- [Abigail] Through it all
Virginia was winning herReligious Liberty cases
then came her biggest test.
- It was so risky.
Then when I receivedthat assignment I said,
"Lord, you give them a chance
"to actually pick up the gun and kill me."
I received documents
that would prove thatthe dictator was lying,
continuing to lie to America.
- [Abigail] Trusting inthe Lord, she accepted.
- I took the job and later on at night,
I created a pocket in my suit
and I put my documents there
with intention to give itto the American embassy
the next day because I had a case
and I knew that theywill be in the courtroom.
- [Abigail] Miraculously, her plan worked.
- They took me, interrogated me,
but they forgot to search me.
- [Abigail] The documents made
it to president Ronald Reagan,
infuriating the Romanian dictator.
- He decided to senda client to my office.
The assassin said to me,"I'm not your client.
"I'm here to kill you."
And he pointed the gun to me
and I thought that I'm going to die.
- [Abigail] As theassassin screamed at her
Virginia fought back theonly way she knew how.
- I look at the man
and I started to share the gospel.
He was just a human being like me
looking for the truth like Iused to look many years ago.
And as I shared the gospel with him,
I notice I look at the man
who screamed few seconds ago,
melting under God's power.
- [Abigail] Instead of taking her life,
he accepted Christ.
- He left my office as a free man indeed.
As a brother in Christ
and our lives will never be the same.
- Virginia's book include the chapter from
her would be assassin
on how God transformed his life
after their dividing counter.
Even leading him into ministry.
Reporting from Washington,
Abigail Robertson, CBN News.

- Welcome back to "Christian World News".
Democratic presidentialnominee Joe Biden says,
"the Equality Act
"would be his top priority as president."
- The Act extends legally protections
to gay, lesbian and transgender people.
But as Heather Sells explains,
it also could be hostileto people of faith.
- [Heather] Joe Biden has adeep Catholic faith and history
that he regularly toutsto potential voters.
But if elected his administration
could easily silence andmarginalized people of faith.
Why?
Because the LGBTQ lobbydominates the Democratic party.
It's former top lobbyistis the convention CEO
and it's number one priority,
the Equality Act would oppress believers.
Just last year he made clear
that the Equality Act
would be his top priority as president.
- Well I promise you thatif I am elected president,
that will be the firstthing I asked to be done.
- [Heather] And so did Tuesday'sLGBTQ Democratic Caucus.
- We have to pass the EqualityAct through both houses.
And of course we have to have a president
who will sign it into law.
- [Heather] The Equality Actwould add Sexual Orientation
and Gender Identity tofederal civil rights laws
with no exceptions for people of faith.
- It treats the people who believes that
marriage is between a man and a woman
and they were created male and female.
It treats our beliefs
as the equivalent of racist bigotry.
- [Heather] Other elementsof the bill include
forcing female athletesto compete with men
that identify as women.
Requiring faith-based adoption agencies
to choose between placingchildren with gay couples
or closing down.
It also adds the words,
Perception and Belief tothe 1964 Civil Rights Act,
which Senator James Lankford says,
"Could spell even more trouble."
- If I go to interview in a job
and I'm not hired,
I can Sue that employer
because I perceive
they were thinking I was gay,
and so they didn't hire me.
- [Heather] Analysts likethe Family Research Council's
David Clawson say,
"Biden's LGBTQ friendly policies
"would affect school children
"and their safety in bathrooms."
- Biden said on his first day in office,
he would reinstate Obama-eraguidance for schools
that would allow those whoidentify as transgender
to have access to the locker rooms,
bathrooms and changing facilities
of their choice.
- [Heather] Biden callstransgender equality,
the civil rights issue of our time.
His foundation launched
a family acceptance campaign in 2018.
- We'll use our resources to highlight
the harms and family rejection.
- [Heather] But with new reporting
on concerns about social contagion
and evidence that some kids might adopt
transgender identities to fit in.
Biden's push to force family acceptance
could strip parents of their ability
to care for their children
and protect them fromharmful medical treatments.

Could a recent peace deal bea part of biblical prophecy?
- Emily Jones has the storyand the answer from Jerusalem.
(soft music)
- Welcome to Jerusalem forthis "Inside Israel" report
where we show you what'shappening in Israel
and the Middle East.
As Israel and the UnitedArab Emirates work hard
to finalize their historic peace deal.
It's causing a politicalshuffle across the Middle East.
That some even view as prophetic
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
only saw good results from the agreement
Iran flat out condemned it.
The Palestinian Authoritycalled the UAE traitors
and Turkey's President Erdoğan
threatened to break off
diplomatic relations with the UAE.
Middle East expert, Joel Rosenberg
believes this Abraham accordhas prophetic undertones.
- We watch in the book ofEzekiel chapters 38, 39,
what's known as the eschatological future
war of Gog and Magog
is the Arab States beingvery calm and quiet
towards Israel, Israelreconstructed peaceful, prosperous,
calm, secure,
and then aRussian-Iranian-Turkish Alliance
forming against Israel.
- While Rosenberg doesn'tbelieve Israel's war
with Gog and Magog is imminent.
He says the Middle East isheading in that direction
And Christian should prayfor the peace of Jerusalem.
Hezbollah is in the spotlight again,
after an international tribunal convicted
a senior member of the group
for assassinating Lebanon's Prime Minister
15 years ago.
The special tribunal for Lebanon
and International Court in the Netherlands
found Salim Yahshua guilty
for the 2005 truck bombing
that killed Prime Minister Rafik Hariri
and 21 others.
Meanwhile three others were acquitted
of involvement in the murder.
The verdict delayed for years
due to Hezbollah's gripon power in Lebanon.
(speaking foreign language)
- [Interpreter] He was assassinated
because he was against thepolicy of the regime in Syria
and he wanted to take this regime
out of Lebanon.
We all said this right,
but when it comes from a court
that shows that what we'vesaid before in the past
is true.
- The verdict comes just days
after the huge blast thatrocked Beirut on August 4th,
leaving nearly 200 dead,
6,000 wounded and hundredsof thousands homeless.
Many blame Hezbollah for the attack
and speculate the Iranian backed group
may have stored weapons at the port.
Adding to the deadly explosion.
For the first time in history,
Israeli and German Air Force jets
flew side-by-side over the former
Dachau concentration camp
as a tribute to thevictims of the Holocaust.
The moving fly by marked
the first time Israelijets have ever entered
German airspace.
The historic momentwas captured on camera.
- [Male Voice] Flying togetherabove the valley of darkness
making room for only light ahead.
As we vow never again.
- The jets also flew over the airfield
were 11 Israeli athletes were murdered
in the Munich massacre attack
during the 1972 Summer Olympics.
The Israeli Air Force
will be in Germany for two weeks
to conduct more exercises.
