- [Eric] God, I need some hope.

And help me bring hope.

- [Gordon] See how he's helping others.

All that and more on today's700 Club Interactive.

Welcome to the show.

The world has witnessedprotests, riots, looting,

and still peacefulmarches, since May 25th,

following the death of George Floyd.

- We've also seen testimoniesof faith and love,

showing that there is noracial division in Christ,

with many churches...

And healing to the streets ofMinneapolis through prayer,

worship and even baptisms.

Joel Bomberger, a preacherwith Circuit Riders,

shared an image of a baptismthat occurred on the street

where George Floyd died.

Joel also shared thathealing was happening,

as he received word thata deaf ear was opened.

- Other photos of this moveof God have been posted

all across social media, showing people praying

for one another, worshiping together,

and crying out to God for change.

The streets of Minneapolis, where George Floyd was killed,

has become the site of anoutpouring of God's love

and redemption, and that'ssome good news that you're

not going to see anywhere else.

You might see it on socialmedia, but you're not gonna

see it on the major news outlets.

But what a wonderful testimonythat we can come together,

we can declare the goodnessof God and declare His Word,

which says he will not loseheart and he will not falter

until he establishes justice on the earth.

So let's pray for that, let's work towards that,

let's not just have it bewords, but have it be real.

That we can be on nation, under God, indivisible,

with liberty and justice for all.

- Well, several churchesand peaceful protestors

in Cary, North Carolina, came together,

in the Unity Prayer Walk, topray for the end of racism

and wash the feet of protestors.

- [Gordon] Shara and Daniel Chalmers,

with Love Wins Ministry, along with Pastor Wokoma,

of Legacy Center Church, organized the event.

Pastor Wokoma believescollaboration is imperative.

He says we don't want itto be just the black church

or the white church or the Asian church,

we want the body of Christ tocome together collectively.

Not just to protest, butto talk with one another,

so we can come up with solutions

that can help heal ournation and our community.

The Chalmers felt God ledthem to do the foot washing

portion of the event, following Jesus' example.

Police chiefs from three surrounding towns

participated in the foot washing,

along with the mayor, andother members of the community.

- Shara Chalmers says thechurch needs to be the change,

saying, "This is thechurch's greatest hour."

"We cannot miss our momentto become the answer

"to ending slavery, which is love."

"Serving our brothers and sisters,

"standing in the gap whenthey are police officers."

"We have to arise and shineand model the message."

- And that is a wonderful message,

that let us be servants ofall, let us serve one another,

let us forebear oneanother, but most of all,

let's hold up righteousnessas the standard

and justice as the standard.

When there is not justice, you can't expect there ever

to be peace, so we needjustice in our land today.

- Absolutely.

- Well, coming up, words thatparents never want to hear.

- [Manda] The doctors and thenurses had all told us that

they thought he wouldlive for maybe 24 hours.

- [Gordon] So how didthis young teen survive,

after being given less than a day to live?

Find out right after this.

(upbeat music)

Traden's nickname was "Big Shot".

His golf coach started callinghim that because of his

knack for coming through in the clutch.

Well, after a terriblecar crash left Traden

with a crushed skull, BigShot was going to have to

beat the odds one more time.

(tires screeching)

(crashing)

(sirens blaring)

- [Narrator] The impact was deafening.

A truck, failing toyield the right of way,

broadsided the van carrying Jerry Higgins

and his two grandchildren,Sage and Traden Karch.

- [Jerry] I heard Sagesay, "Traden wake up,

"Traden wake up."

- [Narrator] Jerry and hisgranddaughter were okay.

13-year-old Traden, however...

- His skull had been crushed.

It wasn't very long andthe paramedics were there.

That's when I called Manda.

- [Manda] He was unconsciousand he said there was just

blood everywhere and that hekind of had a few seizures.

I just cried out to God and I said,

"God, you knew this was gonna happen."

"It didn't catch you by surprise,

and so, I trust you."

"I know that he's in your hands

"and you're in complete control."

- [Narrator] Manda arrivedat St. Francis Hospital

in Tulsa, Oklahoma, shortly after Traden.

He was barely alive.

- And then I just startedtexting everyone I knew

and just saying, "We need you to pray."

- [Narrator] Traden'sdad, Chris, got to the ER

moments before his sonwas taken to surgery.

- There was a lot ofblood, and I definitely was

not expecting to see all the blood.

It made it very real, theseverity of the situation.

- [Manda] The doctors andthe nurses had all told us

that they thought he wouldlive for maybe 24 hours.

- [Narrator] As the hourspassed, the waiting room

filled up with family andfriends praying for the teenager.

- So that was a blessing, youknow, to have just so many

people automatically praying for him.

- [Narrator] As for Chris and Manda,

memories flooded in of thefun-loving seventh grader,

who less than a year earlier,

sunk the winning putt for his team

at the Junior PGA Regional Final.

(clapping)

- [Chris] That wasreally exciting for him,

because he wasn't the best,by a long shot, on their team.

- I said, "But look atwhat God did for you."

I said, "How He let youmake that winning putt."

- [Announcer] Traden Karch.

(clapping)

- [Narrator] Now they were begging God

for their son's life.

(clapping)

They also reached outthrough social media.

- [Chris] It was a desperateplea, basically just saying,

"If you're a praying person, please pray."

"I need as many people prayingto God as I possibly can."

- Lord, be with Manda and Chris.

- [Narrator] Traden survivedthe six-hour surgery

and was placed in amedically induced coma.

- Lord, my heart aches for them.

- The doctors came in and said,

"We have done everything wecan possibly do for Traden."

"There's nothing more medicallythat we can do for him."

"The rest is up to Traden."

- [Chris] We really had noidea what was gonna happen,

or if he was gonna wake up.

- [Manda] Well, he'll never talk or walk,

he'll be kind of in a vegetative state.

- [Narrator] Prayers andencouragement came in

from everywhere on socialmedia, including the PGA.

In fact, one of Traden's favorite golfers,

Rory McIlroy, sent him a personal message.

- I hope you're feeling much better

and I wish you a really speedy recovery.

Golf and the PGA JuniorLeague really need you

and when you're feelingbetter, I want you to come

to a tournament and meetme and we can hang out

and hopefully we'll see you soon.

- [Narrator] With Traden still in a coma,

the family clung to the outpouring of love

and their faith in God.

Then, three weeks after surgery, the swelling in his brain

had gone down and he woke up.

- [Manda] He started sittingup on his own and then,

only a week later does he start walking

around the hospital with assistance.

Each day they would see his progress.

Every doctor would come in and just say

how he was a miracle.

- [Narrator] After onlyfive weeks in the hospital,

Traden was released to go to rehab.

- [Manda] Traden actuallywalked out of the hospital

on his own.

- [Narrator] Still, Tradenfaced major hurdles.

He couldn't speak and had lost his memory.

As he worked with the rehabstaff just to form sounds,

the family again turned to prayer.

Within a week, they sawmore signs of God's healing.

- Traden had spoke my namefor the very first time.

- Mom.

- [Manda] Yes, thank you.

He couldn't actually say words, and so he was sounding out

each letter to my name, just to mom.

(laughing)

- [Narrator] And when Chrisbrought Traden's putter to him,

- [Chris] That's when I knew, I was like,

that part has stayed, because he gripped it

the exact same way, and wewere excited about that.

That's six in a row.

- [Narrator] Two monthsafter the accident,

Traden went home.

His speech and memorycontinued to improve,

as he had to relearneverything he had learned

since kindergarten.

By fall he was back in school

and finished the seventh grade that year.

By then he had watchedRory McIlroy's message

dozens of times.

- Traden, how are ya?

- [Narrator] He also got to meet him.

- I remember he walked in and,in my mind I was thinking,

huh, is this really him?

And, sure enough, it was.

- [Narrator] At 17,Traden shows little sign

of speech or memory impairment,

and he looks forwardto graduating in 2022.

He's also back on the golfcourse and challenging his dad

whenever he can.

- [Chris] I was there,I heard the prognosis,

and I knew what we were lookin' at.

God healed Traden, there's no doubt.

- In my opinion, the onlyreason why I'm still alive

is people praying.

- There is so much power in prayer.

I mean, I believe thatwe have the same power.

We can call upon the samepower that raised Christ

from the dead.

And so, you have to call upon that power.

(music resolving)

- We have the same power thatraised Christ from the dead.

That is the essence of the Gospel.

That's the essence of thebaptism of the Holy Spirit.

That same resurrection power is in you.

And how do you release it?

How do you get to thepoint where you believe,

regardless of what the reports are,

regardless of how big the storm is,

you say I have thatsame resurrection power.

I can deliver that powerin this circumstance.

This is what it takes to overcome.

And Jesus says it, "If youhave the faith to believe,

"you can say to this mountain,

"be removed and cast in the sea,

"and the mountain willget up and go to the sea."

He's the Lord God of the universe.

Through Him and by Himall things were made,

so He knows what He's talkin' about.

He spoke words and theuniverse came into being.

And He is telling you andme, we have that same power.

We're made in His image.

We have the ability to create.

We have the ability to pray.

We have the ability to speak with faith.

And when we do, we can see the same power.

Now, in Mark, chapter 11,Jesus gives us the key,

and what are the keys to miracles.

What had happened is hehad cursed a fig tree.

He had come to it expectingfruit, there wasn't any.

And He said to it, "Letno one ever eat fruit

"from you again."

And so He walks away.

Now, there's a lot of symbolism here.

It's all during theweek, His triumphal entry

into Jerusalem, and thenHis death, His crucifixion,

His resurrection, it's allhappening in this time period,

right before the crucifixion.

And He's saying, "Let no oneeat fruit from you again."

Next day they go by andthe disciples notice,

well that fig tree has been dried up

from the root overnight.

And Jesus turns to them and He says,

"If you believe in yourheart that you have already

"received, you will have it."

Now, that's the key to miracles.

Believing.

Believing in your heart,in your innermost being,

having the faith that withstandsall outward circumstances

and doesn't let any of that, any of what we consider

the normal universe come to bear.

But we say we have thekingdom of heaven on our side.

And in heaven there's noone with a crushed skull.

There's no one with cancer.

There's no one poor.

There's no one lonely.

There's no one heartbroken.

We get to pray that God'swill, which we see in heaven,

we can pray that God's willwould be done on earth,

as it is in heaven.

He's given us that authority.

You have everything you need.

You have the authority.

You have the risen Jesus.

He is praying for you.

He is joining with your prayers right now.

He's interceding for you.

You have the Holy Spirit, that same spirit

that hovered over the face of the deep.

You have that.

When you realize thegreatness of His power

towards us who believe, then yes indeed,

all things become possible.

So let's use that authority.

Let's use that power to pray right now.

And the Bible says, "Whentwo or more agree touching

"anything, it shall be done for them

"by my Father in heaven."

These are the words of Jesus.

So let's believe them.

Let's announce them andlet's pray right now.

Lord God Almighty, we come to you.

We come boldly to your throne of grace,

for you have redeemedus, you have paid for us

with your blood, and yourblood cleanses us from all sin,

all unrighteousness, anythingwe've ever done wrong.

You forgive!

So we come as your children,

as your restored and redeemed children.

And we're bold enough to askfor those who have sickness

in their body right now.

And we say over them,

be healed now, in Jesus' name.

Be restored and made every bit whole,

from the top of your headto the soles of your feet,

let there be no disease,no infirmity, no problems,

from this day forward, in Jesus' name.

There's someone, you'resuffering with terrible migraines

and the diagnosis hasbeen cluster headaches.

God is healing you of that,He's literally remaking

some of the enlarged veins in your brain.

He's taking all of thataway from you right now.

You're healed and they will never return.

In Jesus' name.

Terry?

- There's someone named Sonia.

I don't know what your condition is,

but I know that you'recrying out to the Lord

for an answer and Godhas heard you, Sonia.

Just receive the answerto your prayer today.

In Jesus' name.

- Someone, you've got aclick in your right jaw

and God has just healed that for you.

You weren't even praying forit, but just in Jesus' name,

lay your hand on that jaw, receive healing

throughout that joint,in the name of Jesus,

let everything slideback in the normal place,

and be healed, in Jesus' name.

- Someone else, your right shoulder,

you have a problem with your rotator cuff,

lots of pain and immobility.

Right now you're gonnafeel warmth come into that,

as Jesus completely sets you free.

- Someone else, you've got atooth infection in the root

of your left jaw and in the bottom jaw,

but you're starting to experiencepain on the top jaw too.

God's healing all of that.

The loose tooth are going to be all firm.

All of that infection is being taken out.

All of that bone is beingrestored to you right now.

In Jesus' name.

- And someone else, youhave an asthmatic condition.

You've had it for a long time.

Most of the time it doesn't bother you,

but with COVID-19 you'vebeen so concerned about that.

You're being healed right now,in Jesus' name, completely.

Just take a deep breath and exhale.

All of that wheezing and that sense of

lack of breath is gone,as you breathe freely.

- There are people whoare suffering with anxiety

and you've had panic attacksbefore and you're worried

that your anxiety from COVID-19,from all of the rioting,

is going to lead to a cascade.

And God is just speaking to you.

Let his peace guard yourheart and your mind.

Let there be peace in yourthoughts and no more worry,

no more anxiety.

The peace that passes all understanding.

Lord, we thank you.

We thank you that you work miracles today.

We thank you for the resurrection power

that you've given us.

We thank you for everything you are doing

and we praise your name for it.

In Jesus' name.

Amen and amen.

If you've been healed, let us know.

Let us share your good report.

Give us a call.

1-800-700-7000

And if you need prayer, we're here for ya

and we're here for ya 24 hours a day.

All you have to do is pickup the phone and call.

Terry?

- Well still ahead, buildinghope for kids battling cancer.

- Where they should bedreaming and thinking about

pirate ships and playgrounds, now everything is replaced

with hospital visits, needle pricks and chemos

that make you so sickthat you can't stand it.

- [Terry] See how this pediatriccancer survivor is changing

the lives of others, when we come back.

(upbeat music)

- Pediatric cancer survivor, Eric Newman,

was so sure his cancer would return,

that all he focused onwas partying and surfing.

That all changed as hewas laying on a hammock

in Costa Rica.

Take a look.

- When I was three yearsold, I was diagnosed

with a very rare form ofliver cancer, hepatoblastoma.

So I fought it, went through chemotherapy

for about two years, andgot put into remission.

And then my dad's sister'ssecond child, three years old,

was diagnosed with leukemia, and her name was Shannon.

Shannon fought the battle just like I did,

until she was five, andgot put into remission.

So you fast forward a little bit more,

Shannon, I believe she was close to 16;

we were goin' through highschool, I had just graduated.

Mom calls me and tells me that Shannon

had fallen out of remission.

Shannon passed away rightaround her 17th birthday.

And I'll never forget, at that moment,

when we laid her to rest,I just made a decision,

I was gonna work hard, party hard, and play hard,

cause I believed that thecancer was gonna come back

and get me.

And I was travelin' theworld, big time surfer.

I had everything that theworld said that I should have,

because that's what I had been chasin'.

And in 2008, the economy kinda took a turn

and everything that the worldsaid that I should have,

the world wanted it back, because I ran out of money.

So I did what any responsiblebusinessman would do.

I drained my bank accountand went to Costa Rica.

And when I was there, I justprayed for the very first time.

I was on a hammock, on theCaribbean side of Costa Rica,

and I was like, "Man, what the heck

"am I supposed to be doin'?"

"Why is all of this happening?"

In the journal, all that Idid was write a word "Hope".

That's the only word thatcould come and I just prayed.

I said, "God, I need somehope, and help me bring hope."

And so came back, oneof my buddies was like,

"Hey man, why don't we throw a fundraiser

"for a local children's hospital?"

So we did that, ended upraising close to $7000,

and with me being achildhood cancer survivor,

they allowed me to takeone of those large checks

and present it.

And as the elevator wasgettin' ready to close,

another group of individuals got in,

and they had a big check too.

Lo and behold, it wasa huge grocery store.

Their check was for like 1.3 million.

I was like, "What the heck, man?"

So I kinda threw the check off to the side

and I went and sat in alittle video game station.

I saw a little guy andstarted playin' the video game

with him and the mom came over and like,

"What are you doin' here?"

"Why are you sittin' next to my child?"

So for the very first time,

I spoke about the pediatriccancer and she started to cry.

Then her husband came over and she's like,

"Tell him the story."

And then he started to cry.

They said that you giveme and my husband hope,

that my son will be sittingin your seat one day.

And at that moment, Iknew that I was put here

for all the constructionstuff that I went through,

the turmoil in that, andall the cancer turmoil

that I went through;

I needed to marry those two together.

Ended up takin' a couple of my buddies out

to an Italian restaurant.

I had to borrow the money from my parents

to take 'em out and just pitched the idea.

And one of 'em had justgraduated from law school.

And he was like, "I'll help you do it."

So we filed the 501(c)(3)paperwork for Roc Solid

and that went through the very first time.

Roc Solid Foundation isa non-profit organization

that builds hope for children

that are dealin' with pediatric cancer.

The easiest way to explain itis, kids one through eight,

we put a custom swingset in their backyard,

and eight to 18 we go inand remodel their bedrooms.

It's over probably 225 projects

that we've been able to complete.

The most rewarding part of, I think,

what I get the opportunity to do,

when that child comes around the corner

for the very first time.

And that look on the face, that's what hope looks like.

When a child is diagnosedwith pediatric cancer,

one of the first thingsthat's stripped from them

is the ability to play.

Where they should be dreaming and thinking

about pirate ships and playgrounds,

now everything is replacedwith hospital visits,

needle pricks and chemosthat make you so sick

that you can't stand it.

But for us, what we're able to do is

we bring play back into the equation.

And you look at papa bear andthen he's lookin' at mama bear

and for that moment, they're a normal family.

And even if it's for those three seconds,

that's why we do every single thing

in the Roc Solid Foundation.

It's not about Eric Newman.

It's not about Roc Solid Foundation.

It's about bringing hope toa pretty desperate situation.

Really I'm showin' the love of Jesus

in that I get to be ableto sit down with them,

at their worst moment of their entire life

and just listen to 'em.

Cancer affects every walkof life and so what it does,

it gives me the opportunityto be the hands and feet

of Christ in every situation possible.

- As I listened to Eric's story,

here's the Scripture that comes to mind.

"All things work together forgood to those who love God

"and are called according to His purpose."

You know we're all createdwith purpose and intention

by a very loving Father, and for most of us,

we walk away from that fora season until we figure out

that we really can't doanything that matters much

on our own.

And sometimes that's verydiscouraging and we search

and we search and we say,"God, where are you?"

But in a hammock in Costa Rica, hope was written on a page.

It was like a silent cry to God.

Show me, show me what I'm here for.

Why am I created?

What do you want me to do?

I find in my own life thatnothing I've been through,

not the good, the bad, or the ugly

goes unnoticed or unused by God.

So I would encourage you today,

if you're looking tounderstand what life is about,

what the purpose for your life is,

that you do what Eric did.

Marry the things that you've learned

and the things thatyou're gifted and good at

with God's intent and purpose for you.

Just ask Him.

You have to cry out to Him.

Father, here I am, I'm listening, speak.

And He will speak to you.

You have a loving Father, who wants to be known,

who's looking over youand who wants to reveal

His kingdom purposes to you.

Don't be afraid to call out and to ask.

Don't be afraid to trust that He's legit.

Gordon?

- Well, on tomorrow'sshow, we'll look at the

controversial state of lawenforcement in our country.

But before we get to that show,

here's a word from FirstPeter, chapter three.

"To sum up, all of you beharmonious, sympathetic,

"brotherly, kindhearted,and humble in spirit."

And while your at it, spendsome time in a hammock,

ask God what He would have you do,

and realize He will answer that prayer.

God bless.

We'll see you again.
