- Hey everyone, welcometo "The Superbook Show."

My name is Tina.

I'm one of the writers on this show.

And you may also have seenme singing and dancing

in a few of the music videos.

I like a lot episodesof "The Superbook Show,"

but my favorite has gotto be "Prodigal Son."

I will confess, I'm a little bit biased

because I did write that one.

But, the parable of the prodigal son

has always been one of my favorites,

because of its messagethat no matter what we do,

we can always come runninghome to God, our father.

He will always be there towelcome us with open arms.

I hope you enjoy my favorite episode of

"The Superbook Show," "Prodigal Son."

- Hey there, welcome to"The Superbook Show."

- AJ, I don't think I should be hosting

the show with you today.

- What are you talking about?

- I haven't felt very close to God lately.

- How come?

- Well, I'm getting moreinvolved with my soccer team.

(rising whistle sound)

And with my schedule getting busier,

I just haven't had timefor my usual quiet times.

- Oh no.

- Yeah, and since I haven'tbeen constantly reading

my bible, I'm thinking,maybe I don't belong here.

- Nope!

No way, this isn't happening.

Look, I get that you're upset

but I'm not gonna let you think

that you can't be aSuperbook host anymore.

And you know what, it'stime for a bible story.

(air whoosing)

(air whoosing)

Okay, you know the parableabout the prodigal son right?

- The son who was reckless with his money?

- What?

- That's what prodigal means.

Reckless with money.

- Oh, that makes so much more sense now.

But yes, that's the one.

- I'm not reckless with my money.

How is this gonna help me?

- Well you know the restof the parable, right?

- Yeah.

- All right then, I'll bethe dad and you'll be my son.

- Okay.

If you wanna follow alongin your Superbook bible app,

we're looking at Luke chapter 15:11-32.

(trumpet fanfare)

- Ah my son, isn't it nicehow we live in such wealth

and comfort.

When I die you and your brotherwill inherit all of this.

- Yeah about that,

could I have my share now please?

- Huh!

Are you saying what I think you're saying?

- I mean yeah, I kinda wishthat you were already dead

so, could I have my inheritance now?

- Well, if that's how youfeel then just take it.

- Thanks and cool, I'mmoving out by the way.

(crashes)

All right hey hey freedom!

What to do next?

I'm gonna buy a Nintendo switch,

and a million games forit, and cheese puffs.

Lots and lots of cheese puffs.

more,

cheese puffs!

(whistles)

(grunts)

The stores are all out of cheese puffs!

It's a cheese puffs famine!

No oh oh oh!

This is the worst day of my life!

I want to go home, but I can't go home.

It was the whole

"Hey, Dad I wish you were dead."

That's not my best moment.

(stomach growls)

Oh but I'm so hungry!

Oh my dad's a nice guy.

Maybe going back home won't be so bad.

(ascending electronic music)

Hey Dad, I'm sorry forbeing rude earlier, uh.

- My son I'm so glad you've returned.

- Really?!

- So I can throw youinto the pit of despair!

My dad's servants have cheese puffs maybe

he won't throw me into the pit if I offer

to work as a servant.

I really hope he comes back soon.

I miss him so much!

Why do you smell like processed cheese?

Oh, I've missed you!

- Dad, I'm sorry for the way I acted.

I spent all your money,

please don't throw meinto the pit of despair.
