- I know, I know.
It's just...
- Hey, everybody out there!
- I thought that maybe if I--
- Thanks for watching The Superbook Show.
- Oh, what no!
I'm sorry, it's..
I think I just got into trouble.
(intense music)
(logo whooshing)
- That must've been yourparents on the phone, huh?
- Yeah, they told me notto watch a certain show,
then they caught me watching it.
- That's rough.
- I tried to smooth things over
by picking up some extrachores around the house.
(vacuum humming)
But they're still upset.
- Why wouldn't they be mad?
Obedience is better than sacrifice.
- To make it right, I did the dishes
(soap bubbling)on my sister's dish day.
It wasn't even my day!
Obedience is what now?
- Obedience is better than sacrifice.
- What in the world are you saying?
- I'm saying, it's easier todo the right thing at first,
than it is to go back and tryto make things right later.
- But it wasn't even my day!
- Oh, I heard you.
Now check out this Superbook episode
where King Saul disobeyed.
- It's true that the army spared the best
of the sheep and cattle.
But they're going to sacrificethem to the Lord. your God!
- Listen!
Obedience is better than sacrifice,
and submission is better thanoffering the fat of rams!
- God told Saul to destroyeverything in the enemy camp.
And Saul chose to partially obey.
- So I guess partial obedienceis still disobedience?
Why do you think Godtakes it so seriously?
- If you read the rest of the story,
you'll see that Saul's disobediencewas an act of rebellion.
- Rebellion?
- Yes!
If God tells you to dosomething, that's His word.
And nothing is moreimportant than His word.
- I really messed up.
- Yes, you did.
But your parents will forgive you,
and so will God.
The question is, whatare you going to do now?
- Obedience is soundingkinda good right now.
- It should.
Obedience brings blessings to your life.
- You got any scripture for those lessons
you're talking about?
- Yes.
In Psalms it says,
blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
who greatly delights in His commandments.
- So, I don't just need to be obedient?
I need to have a goodattitude about it, too?
- Well, yeah.
- This is gonna take some prayer.
- That's cool, because that'swhat it takes for us all.
- His word is forever alive.
Now let's pray.
