By building a brick factory, CBN’s Orphan’s Promise is changing the trajectory of an entire community.

- [Narrator] Volodya, his twin brother,
and a younger sibling,are vulnerable children
living in a Roma community in Ukraine.
Volodya said they never had enough to eat.
- I got dizzy and my stomach ached.
Sometimes, when I was hungry,I would dream about food.
- [Narrator] A hundredyears ago, people moved
to this village to escape discrimination,
and to find jobs.
But unemployment rates over 90 percent
have forced families tolive in grinding poverty.
- My mom goes to the city to beg.
We sit in our hut and waitfor hours without food.
- [Narrator] Over theyears, Volodya's dad tried
to find full-time jobs,but he was never hired.
To help him and othersprovide for their families,
CVN's Orphan's Promise workedwith a missionary pastor
and built a cementfactory in the community.
- In the beginning I didn't know anything,
so they trained me.
Praise God, I was able tolearn and now I teach others.
- [Narrator] The factoryproduces high-quality pavers,
bricks, and concrete blocks.
Business has been sostrong, they've been able
to hire even more workersfrom the Roma village.
- I'm so proud to saythat I have good job,
and my wife doesn't have to beg anymore.
- [Narrator] For Volodya and his brothers,
that means plenty of food toeat, and hope for the future.
- I'm so happy that my dadhas a job and works hard.
I don't want to beg whenI grow up, I want to work.
God, he has a purpose for my life.
