- Well it's time for your email questions
and some honest answers,
and Pat, this first onecomes from Mary who says
I know a couple who got divorced
because of infidelity.
Now the couple has moved back in together
and are sleeping together, but they're still divorced.
Is it fornication for a divorcedcouple to sleep together,
even though they were once married?
- Oh, I might start the answer like Mary,
you know a couple or youtalking about yourself?
You know.(laughter)
If you were worried about your neighbor--
- Asking for a friend.
(laughter)
- Alright, they were divorcedbecause of infidelity.
Now they're living together,
but they don't wanna getremarried, they got the divorce,
and they are therefore living together.
You know, I told you in the Old Testament,
it says if a man divorces his wife,
he can't remarry her becauseit would humiliate her
and it would be a sin against her.
In this case, both partiesapparently wanna go for it.
I think it's wrong,
I think if they don't wanna get married,
they shouldn't becohabiting like they are.
So, why not get married,
don't they want the responsibilities?
Somebody said, you don'thave to take the cow
if you can just get the milk.
I mean, what's the deal?
I don't understand that reasoning,
and I think, if theyreally love each other,
they ought to solidifythe thing by getting,
they can go to the justice and the peace,
so they get to a preacher, they can get something
and get it done legally, alright.
- This is Jackie who says Iwasn't raised in the church,
but I am a believer.
When people ask me for thedate that I knew I was saved,
I cannot give one.
I've prayed the sinner's prayer,
I know without a doubt I'm saved,
but I've had many people tell me
I can't be because I don'tknow the date or time.
What do I tell them?
- Tell them A, it'snone of their business,
that's where I would start.
But you don't know the date,
I mean, come on, the Lord knows the date.
You gave your heart to the Lord,
so you don't know the date.
I mean, if you ask me what date was it
you came to the Lord?
I'm not sure I can tell them that either.
- Yeah, me neither.
I mean, I know when ithappened in my life,
but I don't have a date.
- Well, I've had a lot ofthings happen in my life.
What was the time, I can give you times
that I was filled with the Holy Spirit,
I can tell you about all kinds of things.
But at the same time, you don't know the date,
don't worry about it.
God knows, He keeps plentyof scores, He knows.
The big thing is you havegiven your heart to the Lord,
and you're living for Him.
That's what He counts, alright.
- This is a viewer who says dear Pat,
what exactly is the quote "sting of death"
that the Bible talksabout which we escaped?
Is the sting of death a feeling
or just sort of a state of being?
- I think the sting of death
is being separated from God.
I think that's what we're talking about.
That's the sting, up to thatpoint, you're living along,
but when you come to the final realization
that you have not lived for the Lord,
then death, where is thy sting?
You know, and oh grave?
Is there something about separation.
I think it's just death itself.
To the unbeliever, it's bad news, alright?
- This is Jerold who says
is the kingdom of God ademocracy or a republic?
- Neither one, it is a monarchy,
with one ruler, one king, King Jesus.
It is not a democracynor it is a republic.
I mean, this, you talk about
what kind of a governmentyou're gonna have is a republic,
if you can keep it.
- Yeah.
- That's America, but the kingdom of God
is a monarchy run by a king, alright?
- This is Charles who says
I was awarded $87,000 formy half of everything.
My ex wife will not pay.
I need my money, she has my house.
We have no kids.
Will God be mad at me ifI try to make her pay?
It's been 10 years now.
- Look, the courts arethere to work out things.
The question is when yougo to trial, are you angry?
Are you vicious, are youtrying to wreck vengeance?
If you are then don't doit, but at the same time,
it's only fair that you ask
for an impartial arbiterto make the determination.
You don't necessarily have to go to trial,
you could get arbitration,
you could get someimpartial person to say,
would you please work out the details
and see if you can't make this person pay.
But, you know, if somebody is a deadbeat,
I mean they deserve to.
God won't be mad at you
if you do what's available to you, okay?
- This is Silas, who saysdoes God stop listening
to a backslider's prayers ifthey don't sincerely repent,
and if so how can they be saved
if they still have faith in Christ Jesus?
- It's kind of a confusing question,
but the Bible says, if Iregard inequity in my heart,
the Lord won't hear me.
If I'm looking at sin in my heart,
then my prayers will not be effective.
So that's what he's talking about,
and beyond that, I don't know,
the other, your question'sa little confusing, alright?
