- A major victory forDemocrats in Virginia

after Tuesday's elections,giving them control

of both the governor'soffice and the legislature

for the first time in more than 25 years.

Former Vice President JoeBiden tweeting about the wins:

"Tonight, by voting inDemocratic majorities

"in both chambers of the General Assembly,

"Virginians sent a clear, powerful message

"that will resonate across the nation

"and shake the walls of the White House."

While Democrats claim it'sbad news for President Trump,

CBN News Chief politicalanalyst David Brody points out,

he lost Virginia in 2016,but still won the presidency.

- Hillary Clinton won Virginia in 2016,

and how did it work out for her?

Donald Trump is not on the ballot,

so as much as Democratsgonna make a big deal,

when he's on the ticketand it's a big difference.

- [Charlene] Suburban votersturned out in high numbers,

particularly in the DC area.

Polling showed that guncontrol was a major issue

after a shooter killed 12people in Virginia Beach in May.

- We ran on a very definite message,

and that what's we believein conservative values.

- [Charlene] Democratspecial interest groups

poured money into thestate in the final days.

One week before electionday, more than 82 million

had been spent making thisthe most expensive election

in Virginia history.

After the election, HouseMajority Leader Todd Gilbert

who won his race, issued this warning:

"Make no mistake: radical liberals

"from out of our commonwealthwill soon demand a return

"on tens of millions they invested

"to elect the far-leftDemocratic majority."

Their agenda includes stricter gun laws,

raising the minimum wage andmore liberal abortion laws.

It also includes ratifyingthe Equal Rights Amendment,

making Virginia the final stateneeded for possible passage

of the Gender Equality Measure.

While Gilbert promises theGOP will fight the agenda,

the Democrats have the upper hand

for the first time in decades.

- The voters like theprogress, that we as Democrats,

have made over the past few years,

and they want us to continue that progress

over the next few years and beyond in.

- Meanwhile in Kentucky,

Democratic Challenger AndyBeshear declared victory

in the governor's race overRepublican incumbent Matt Bevin.

The GOP Governor trailingby just over 5,000 votes

is not conceding the race.

President Trump campaigned for Bevan

a day before the election

in a state that he won big in in 2016.
