- And now to the impeachment inquiry,
where chaos erupted during another day
of closed-door testimony on Capitol Hill.
Today's scheduled headliner,the Pentagon official
overseeing Ukraine, Laura Cooper.

with what happened.

- Well that's right, Jenna.
Almost two dozen House Republicans
marched into theclosed-door testimony today
demanding transparency on theongoing impeachment inquiry.
- We demand open proceedings.
The American people deserve nothing less.
- [Abigail] This interruption led
House intelligence chairman Adam Schiff
to postpone Laura Cooper's deposition,
which was already underwaywhen Democrats say
Republicans "crashed the party."
- We're gonna go in there today and demand
we get our rights as Members of Congress.
- [Abigail] GOP memberslambasted House Democrats
for making up the rules as they go.
- This is a Soviet styleimpeachment process.
This is closed doors.
It is unfair in every way.
- [Abigail] They alsostill demand Democrats
hold an official House impeachment vote
to authorize the inquiry.
- He wants us to believe thathe's like a special council
in these closed-door meetings over here.
- [Abigail] Congressman Lee Zeldin
who sits on one of theinvestigating committees
says nothing going on behindclosed doors is classified.
- This is the Democrats' strategy.
They like to cherry-pick leaks.
- [Abigail] Democratsargue this is the way
things are normally done.
- Investigations are not public.
When the investigation is done,there'll be public hearings.
That's how it's always been done.
- [Abigail] After Tuesday's hearing
with acting Ukraineambassador, Bill Taylor,
Democrats say histestimony proves there was
an implicit quid-pro-quobetween President Trump
and Ukrainian officials.
- This is my most disturbingday in Congress so far.
Very troubling.
- Democrats are also arguingthat over 100 House members
across various committeesare permitted to be
in the standing room only hearing room,
and they believe Republicansare trying to be disruptive
because they don't want to hear the truth.
