Read Transcript
- Today, the Museum of the Bible
hosted its first ever fashion show.
A one-of-a-kind event featuringbiblically inspired couture
and designs.(upbeat music)
Event producer, Linda Koldenhoven,
told CBN News, this hasbeen a dream of hers,
since before the museum was even finished.
- When we came in here,
it was strictly stone,
well it was just a stonecement floor, and steel beams.
And I walked into the gathering room,
and I saw the Capital right outside
where the glass was gonna be,
and all I could envisionwas a very long runway.
- [Abigail] The sold-outshow featured pieces
from top designers like Dolce & Gabbana,
Versace, and Chanel.
- When you think ofall of these designers,
Versace, Dolce & Gabbana,
you really don't think ofthem as Bible followers,
you know I don't wanna be judgmental,
but look at the creations that they make
that are inspired by the Bible.
- [Abigail] Stylist, Lauren Rothman,
also helped select pieces for the show.
- I think that the Bible impacts fashion,
because fashion is based in history,
and what was old always becomes new again,
and like any other trend,
biblically inspiredclothing is really something
that never goes out of style.
- [Abigail] The finalefeatured a one-of-a-kind dress
designed for the Museum by Chiara Boni,
modeled after the Sistine Chapel.
- Watching that, and just being inspired
by the Sistine Chapel, and watching it float
down the runway, I thoughtshe looked like an angel.
- Many of the gowns in the show
are rotated on display year round
on the Museum's Impact floor.
