Bracing for Dorian: Dangerous Category 3 Hurricane Takes Aim from Florida to South Carolina

- Just in time for the holiday weekend,
Hurricane Dorian is movingtowards the US mainland.
Forecasters expect it to strengthen
and hit anywhere fromFlorida to South Carolina.

I've been through Wilma,I've been through Elmer,
and I don't wanna go through this one.

says Dorian will only get stronger,
and that has people in Florida
and along the East Coast getting ready.
On Wednesday, Dorian's highwinds ripped the Virgin Islands,
knocking out power to two islands.
But it largely spared Puerto Rico,
centering about 90miles north of San Juan.
It's a huge relief for the US territory,
still struggling to rebuild homes
and its power grid after Hurricane Maria.
This satellite video shows lightning
in the eye of the storm as it passed,
an indication of howquickly it's strengthening.
Dorian has now moved out to open waters.
Forecasters say it will grow
into a dangerous Category 3 storm.

Regardless, the President has promised
that FEMA will do a greatjob responding to Dorian.

Be sure to fill your gas tank.
- For now the pressure is on
in Florida and up the East Coast.
Florida's governor hasdeclared a state of emergency,
and he's calling on residents
to gather seven days' worth of supplies
and follow this storm closely.
