- It's been nearly four yearssince the Kendrick brothers
stunned Hollywood withtheir blockbuster, War Room.
Their latest project hits theaters today.
Our Efrem Graham is in Studio 5
with one of the stars inthe film, Priscilla Shirer.
- One runner does indeed matter.
From the big screen to ourscreen, actress Priscilla Shirer
joins us right now here in studio.
So good to see you again, as always.
- Always good to see you, thank you.
- So I know that now that peoplehave begun to see this film
I'm curious what havethey been saying to you?
What's been the response thus far?
- Well, I think that theirexpectations are being met
in the sense that after War Room,
there was this high level of anticipation
about what the Kendrickbrothers would write
and produce next, and sothose that have seen the film,
they really were on the edge of their seat
with anticipation and excitement as they
watched the story unfold.
There were twists and turns that they were
not expecting at all,and so that really did
sort of entertain them whilethey were watching the film,
but more than that, when they walk away,
I've been hearing people reallyask themselves the question,
who have I let define me?
Is my significance tuckedaway in illegitimate places,
like in my success or in the approval
of a certain group of people?
They've been asking that question,
and then doing some deepdigging in their own heart
and with the Lord, to really make sure
that he is the only one thatthey have given the authority
to define them and establishtheir significance.
That's the point of the movie.
- Indeed, so I want to ask this question
because I've been doingthe same kind of thing
after seeing the film, kinda looking,
and then you know, Ifind these small things
that are small now.
(laughs)
But I can see them getting larger
if I don't tackle them now.
Can you speak to that?
- Absolutely, well that's the goal
is for, by the Holy Spirit,we can see something
that he shines a spotlighton that's a small thing now,
in the hopes that we will go ahead
and deal with it with the Lord in prayer,
that we'll allow his word to speak to it,
that we will align ourbehavior and our attitudes,
and ask the Lord to forgive us
for those areas of pride or ego,
or places where we have allowed
illegitimate characteristics to sort of
be the foundation for our behavior.
The great thing about God isthat we are never too far gone
that he doesn't reach out and grab us.
The hound of Heaven is soamazing that he comes after us,
but that place, Efrem, wherewe have both found ourselves,
where there's a little something
that the Holy Spiritshines a spotlight on,
the only reason he'sshining a spotlight on it
is because it's an opportunityfor us to deal with it
before it gets any bigger,
and it's something then massivethat we have to deal with.
