- Welcome back.
It's time for YourQuestions, Honest Answers.
This one, Pat, from Lisa.
Pat, she says, Pat, allmy life my heart's desire
was to be totally sold out to the Lord.
I know how wonderful itis when God is allowed
to use you.
The problem is that I get in my own way.
So my question to you is:
How do I get out of my own way long enough
for the Lord to do a work inme and in others through me?
Thank you for blessingme and so many others.
- First of all, if I wereyou I would stop trying
to analyze things.
You know we analyze thingsto death and I think
that's something Irecommend you stop doing.
The other thing is theapostle Paul said of a truth
in Christ I lie not, Idie daily and you know
you and I need to die and you'reso worried about yourself,
how do I get myself out of the way, well,
just try dying.
I mean really, forgetyou and start thinking
about the Lord.
You're too focused onyou and what do they say?
Paralysis of analysis, you got that.
All right, what's next.
- That's good.
This viewer says I'm ayoung person and am a little
confused on the subject of Christian rock.
Some bands have manytattoos and ear piercings
and I'm not sure that Godwould want a Christian
to dress that way.
I'm really struggling on this subject.
Please help.
- You know if you readthe old testament it was
considered a disgraceto cut yourself and to
tattoo your body, that wassomething the heathen did.
It meant that it was a markof some of the heathen worship
and it's wrong frankly.
I mean all these tattoos and piercings.
It's unbiblical you seeand I don't think a group
that claims to be Christian,I know they say well
we want to reach theunchurched and so forth,
I just don't think we have to give up our
Christian standards in orderto reach the unchurched,
I just don't think that's necessary.
All right.
- All right, Jaime says hi Pat.
Why do some churches baptizein the name of Jesus Christ
and some in the name of theFather, Son and Holy Spirit?
- Well because that's what thebible says in both of them.
I baptize you in the nameof the Father, the Son and
the Holy Spirit, that's oneand in Jesus' name is another.
I do it both ways, I say Ibaptize you in the name of
the Father, the Son, theHoly Spirit, in Jesus' name
so I kind of covered whichever it is.
- [Presenter] You cover all the bases.
- I cover all the bases.
- I go baptized twice just in case,
no I didn't, I got baptizedonce in Rockford, Illinois, Pat.
And then once in the Jordan river.
- Well, amen.
You know Ben Kenstall andI, we baptized 59 people
at Jordan on ChristmasDay, it was quite a,
59 people, all right.- Oh my goodness.
