- [Narrator] In Kerala,India, when incessant rains
caused the worst flooding in 99 years,
fishermen used their boats
to rescue people from their homes.
- Everyone's houses weresubmerged in the water.
And people were cryingout to us to save them.
- [Narrator] Harris and other fishermen
rescued more than 5,000 people,
but in the process many of their boats
were damaged beyond repair.
- We were not on the sea,which we know very well.
We took our boats into
the flooded streets and neighborhoods.
We didn't know what was underneath us
and the boats hit debris here and there
as we rescued people.
- [Narrator] Harris and hisfamily found that the flood
had destroyed everything in their home.
CBN reached out withmedical and relief supplies.
- CBN came and gave usutensils, food supplies,
and other things sothat we can start over.
- [Narrator] When we foundout about the brave fishermen
losing their boatsrescuing their neighbors,
we knew we had to helpthem get back to work.
(people shouting)
- When CBN gave us boats, itbrought hope to all of us,
not just me.
The boats are big so four orfive families share each one.
- [Narrator] Thanks to CBN,
the fishermen are ableto feed their families.
- Now we can go out to seeand earn a living again.
We are all so thankful to CBN.
