- We do not help peoplewhen we make it sound like

faith is God doingwhatever we want him to do.

That's not faith.

Our faith is in who God is.

Our faith is in God's faithfulness.

Our faith is in the factthat my redeemer lives

and that anything that happens to me,

whether it is broken, whether it is bad,

He can work it for good.

He can make it beautiful in His time

and so in First Peter five seven,

Peter says,

"Cast all your anxiety on God

"because he cares for you."

The word cast here literallymeans transfer the weight,

but there's something within us

that wants to determinewhether or not God cares

based on the circumstancesthat we go through in life.

So Paul says look if youneed proof that God cares,

then the way you measurehow much God cares

isn't by your circumstances,

it's by the cross.

- Because the cross

is what gives us salvation.

The cross is what allows us

to have hope in any kind of circumstance

and so as we begin this week of prayer,

cast all your anxiety upon God

because He cares for you.

He wants to carry your weight

and He wants to carry you too.
