One Surgery Changes a Man's Life

Marvin worked hard to provide for his family despite his crossed eyes. CBN heard of his trouble and stepped in to help. Read Transcript


- [Reporter] Marvin wasborn with crossed eyes.

He knew an operation could fix them,

but there had never beenenough money for that.

- [Translator] My familyis very important to me.

I have always tried to put them first

and set aside my own needs.

- [Reporter] For years,Marvin tried to find work.

Finally, a small print shopin the Philippines hired him,

but his crossed eyes and blurred vision

made the job difficult.

- [Translator] One time, Imissed a typo on an order

and the client refused to pay.

That almost cost me my job.

- [Reporter] Marvin's income helps to pay

for extras for the familylike medicine and school fees

for his brothers and sisters.

But there was neverenough for an operation.

Then, one day, he learnedabout a free eye surgery clinic

sponsored by CBN.

He came to see if we could help.

- [Translator] I've waited my whole life

for a chance to have normal eyes.

I am so thrilled.

- [Reporter] Soon, Marvinwas in the operating room

where an ophthalmologist repaired

the weak muscles in his eyes.

The next day, he waswearing safety glasses

and his eyes were tracking perfectly.

- [Translator] Years ago,I'd turned away from God,

but you have led me back to him.

You have fixed my eyesand healed my heart.
