- And welcome to the PrayerLink, I'm Wendy Griffith.
- And I am Charlene Aaron.
Wendy, how many weeks has it been now
since you've gotten married?
- It has been four weeks.
- Four weeks, still honeymooning.
- And several days,we're still celebrating.
It just seems like everyone's asking me
how's married life, and, of course,
I'm not an expert yetmonth and several days.
But I like it, so far, so good.
- Well, marriage looks good on you.
- Thank you, thank you.
You know, it was worth the wait,
and I'm glad it happenedin this season in my life.
- God's appointed time.
- And what I'm finding out is so cool is
a lot of women on Facebookthat are writing to me.
They're like, we read your first book,
my only book, You Are A Prize To Be Won,
and your story encouraged us,because you shared your pain,
and now we're so excitedabout what happened-
- Look at the encouragement.
- So they're saying that, and they always add,
God will do it for me, andI love writing back to them
and saying, "Yes, He will,"because He's no respecter.
- Second book, right?- He's no respecter.
He did it for you.- Yes, He did.
- And He did it for me.- Yes, He did.
And we prayed togetherfor many, many years.
We were over 40 and prayingand then God did it.
- Yes.- And there we are.
Testimonies.- Amen.
- Of His grace, of His grace.- I'm just so excited
about what God is gonnado for other women now.
- Absolutely.- We're gonna pass it along.
- That's right.
- Well, it's time for Hot Topics.
Let's start with this one, aGirl Scouts of America chapter
recently awarded its top honor to a girl
who organized a pro-abortioncampaign, this is so sad.
LifeSite News reports the Girl Scouts
of Southern Arizona honored Megan Gopalan
for her work, MeghanaGopalan, for her work
on so-called reproductive health justice.
Gopalan told a Tucsonpublication at the time
she became interested inadvocating for abortion
after the Supreme Courtnomination of Brett Kavanaugh.
You can read the fullstory at CBNNEWS.com,
including reports on theGirl Scouts partnering
with Planned Parenthood,
although the organization denies it.
I've seen the-- This is interesting.
- The Girl Scouts outwith their cookies lately.
- To give her the top award.- Horrible.
And it's everything thatgoes against womanhood.
- Yeah, that's pure, andyou think of Girl Scouts
being this wonderful organization,
but the fact that they have ties
to Planned Parenthood is not good.
- It's time to give upthose cookies anyway.
- Yeah, we don't need the cookies.
- We don't need the cookies.- Definitely.
Well, an Alabama judge isallowing a 19 year old man
to sue on behalf of his aborted baby.
I love this story.
According to WHNT News 19, Ryan Major's
ex-girlfriend aborted their unborn child
in February, 2017 at theAlabama Women's Center
for ReproductiveAlternatives in Huntsville.
Court documents show thatMajors urged his girlfriend
at that time, who was 16, notto terminate the pregnancy.
Several states, including Alabama,
define unborn babies aspersons, humans beings
or children with rights, andtherefore Majors filed a suit
on behalf of his unborn child and himself.
I love the fact that thisjudge in Alabama says
that this unborn baby had rights.
- I think this case isnot gonna be the first one
we're gonna see like this.- I believe it.
- I think this started something here.
- I'm happy about it.
- Whoopi Goldberg hasshared a health update
after being absent fromThe View for over a month.
Goldberg says she hadpneumonia in both lungs
and became septic.
In a video message to The View fans,
she says she was close todeath, but has made a recovery.
She says she's received wellwishes from many people,
including some who are not even fans,
which she called brilliant.
She said she hopes to beback on the show soon.
- God bless Whoopi Goldberg for salvation
and a closer walk with God.
- We thank God that she's on the mend.
- Doing better, yeah.
- And do pray that Godwould just bless her.
- Bless her, amen.
Meanwhile, Justin Bieberis asking for prayer.
The pop star recently took to Instagram,
opening up about his personal struggles.
In the emotional post, he shared a picture
of his manager and KanyeWest and him praying.
He says he has been struggling a lot,
and this the most humanseason of his life.
But he is facing stuff head on.
The singer didn't mention in detail
what he's struggling with, but asked his
105 million followers to pray.
He also said that he knows God is faithful
and that prayers really work.
- I love it, if I had105 million followers-
- Hey, pray for me.
But know you, there was a prophetic word
his mother shared that JustinBieber got over his life
when he was, beforeanyone knew who he was.
Yeah, in Canada.- That he had what?
- That God was gonna use Justin Bieber
to really reach a lot of young people.
And the blew up as this huge pop star,
and it looked like hewas going the other way,
and now he's come back to Christ,
so we need to pray for him.
- I just have chills as you said that,
because he's only 25 right now.
- He's very young, yeah.
- Already has thisincredible amount of fame,
just got married-- That's a lot of pressure.
- He does need prayer.- God bless him.
- We bless Justin Bieber.- We're gonna pray for him.
- Give him your peace andyour wisdom right now.
God, we just thank you for his life,
and we'll pray more about that later.
- Absolutely, absolutely.
- Well, American Idol has beengoing to church this season.
17 year old contestant Drake McCain stood
before judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie
and Luke Bryan and sang the gospel hymn,
His Eye Is On TheSparrow, I love that one.
Perry, who grew up in church, joined in.
The pair then sang the hymn, O Happy Day,
which Perry posted about on Instagram.
- [Charlene] I saw that, and this week before,
the week before contestantKalifa Wilson told judges
that her background was rough,
growing up in shelters andsometimes living out of a car.
She said that her churchbought her a guitar
and made a way for herto attend the audition.
Perry burst into tears, telling Wilson
she was raised in the church too.
She said, "I didn'tgrow up with any money.
"Money was always a problem.
"It was the cause of everythingnot great in my life.
"We had food stamps andwere at the food bank,
"all that stuff, because my parents
"were traveling ministers."
And Lionel Richie toldWilson that she was here
for a reason and a purpose.
He said, "God can only do for you
"what He can do through you."
That was a veryinspirational American Idol.
- Basically he's quoting Ephesians 3:20.
- Absolutely.- God will do it
through the power that works in us.
- Absolutely, absolutely,it was powerful to see Katy,
who grew up in church, singing O Happy Day.
And she's talking a lotabout church and God
as the auditions are coming through,
so God's doing something, I think.
- Is revival coming?- I believe it.
- I love it.- I believe it.
- Well, do you wanna seetransformation of your city?
Randy and Barbara Walterhave a surefire way
to make it happen.
In their book, Name Your Gatesand Take Back Your Cities.
Love it, they encourage believers
to rededicate their streets, towns,
and cities to God's Kingdom.
- For example, in Salisbury, Maryland,
implementing this techniquehas seen crime fall
to its lowest recorded level after decades
of prayer in nearby Ocean City Gates.
It is now the safest it'sbeen since the 1990s.
And Randy Walter joins us now.
Randy, thank you for beingwith us on Prayer Link.
- Hello, Charlene and Wendy.
- Hey.- Randy, first of all,
how did you learn about naming gates?
- When we were told to pray in Salisbury,
after we had prayed inhundreds of locations
around the ChesapeakeBay, the Lord directed us
to find and pray at thegates, and this was new to us.
Then He asked us a question.
He said, "Why don'tyour gates have names?"
He said, "The gates of my city had names.
"The gates of my temple had names.
"Why don't your gates have names?"
So, when we named the gates, they became centers of prayer.
We named the four gates peace, holiness, justice and truth.
And what we found about naming gates
that's really a key tothis whole strategy is,
it's so simple a child can do it.
It's part of strategic intercession,
which is something we pray.
And what we found is that prayer without
a strategic focus is likefiring a gun without aiming it.
So we led prayer teamsto hundreds of locations
in Salisbury to pray, because we found out
that when you pray withyour feet on the ground,
rather than praying forsomeone's house or praying
from a sanctuary, if you go to the places
you're praying for, you'reactually taking the territory,
the land with your feet.
- So Randy, you're talkingabout this strategy
that we need to implement in prayer.
Talk a little bit more howdid you apply this strategy?
- First of all, we approachedthe Chief of Police
and the Mayor, and we asked for their help
in identifying places to go pray.
And they were verycooperative and supportive.
So as we were firming up our strategy,
we interacted with thegovernment at different levels.
We even went to councilmeetings as silent intercessors,
and we started takingteams of people to pray
at the courthouse, government offices,
the police and fire headquarters,
places they directed us wherethere was human trafficking,
drug dealing, we went to thePlanned Parenthood office,
crime hot spots, places wherethere was gang activities,
homeless camps, we went to places
where they sent us in order to pray.
And one of the thingswe did that we thought
was most effective was we organized
what we called a freedom ridewhere we took intercessors
on a school bus around the city limits
and laid down a hedgewith prayer and praise
as a way to secureSalisbury for the Kingdom.
- Amazing.- You also mentioned
what happened with the crimerate there in Salisbury.
Tell us about the timeyou prayed for the homes,
the houses in your neighborhood.
- While we were praying in Salisbury,
our own street 20 milesaway where we live,
was having a lot of problems.
There was a huge drug bustright down the street from us.
There was a guy who wasarrested for kiddie porn
on his computer, one of his neighbors
was threatening to kill people.
So we realized we needed aprayer walk our own street.
And as we did so, we anointed the soles
of our feet to take ablessing wherever we walked.
We took communion, we puton the whole armor of God.
And as we went to thesedifferent houses of offense,
we repeated the process there.
Then we came to the head of our street
where the town war memorial is,
and we recognized that that is a gate.
So thinking that it would have a name
like the gates in Salisbury,we asked the Lord,
"What's the name of this gate?"
And we were shocked when He said,
"The name of this gate is perversion,
"until you change it.
"If you don't name yourgates, someone else will."
- Randy, that is so powerful.
You say that if we don't name our gates,
someone else will, can youelaborate a little more on that?
- Well, obviously, if the name of the gate
of our street was perversion, someone named it ahead of us,
and it was our responsibilityto rename that gate
in order to declarerighteousness to our street.
And we asked the Lord, "Howshould we name this gate?
"What should we call it?"
And He said, "Call this gate Journey,
"and call everybody wholives on your street
"on to the journey intothe Kingdom of God,
"or pray them off," so we did that.
And within two weeksseven houses were vacated.
- Wow!- That is powerful!
- People, obviously theydidn't own the homes,
so maybe they were just rentingor squatting or something.
What happened to the houses?
- There was one house wheresomebody who ran for mayor
who had sort of an alternative lifestyle,
just seemed to evaporate overnight.
The same thing happened with the lady
across the street from uswho had a cement gargoyle
in her yard, she was just gone.
They were just like vapors that vanished.
There was a house that hadpeople who were hoarders in it
and the Health Department condemned it.
This was the kind ofactivity that happened,
but the thing we find is really excited,
Charlene and Wendy, is that the people
who are still on our street obviously,
whether they know it or not,
are on their way into the Kingdom.
- Amen, I love it, I love it!
Randy, really quickly, howhave you gotten the word out?
What's been the more responses
and how are you gettingpeople involved with this?
- The first thing we did after this was
we wrote a piece that wasposted on the elijahlist online.
And as a result of the response we got,
we heard from people in 25states and six countries
as a result of that postwho were not only agreeing
with what we were doing, butthey were implementing it.
So they started doing thesame thing where they were.
We heard from South America,we heard from the Middle East,
we heard from Europe, we heardfrom all around the world,
and we heard from all around the country.
So as a result of that postbeing so well-received,
that's how we came up with our book,
which you mentionedearlier, Name Your Gates
and Take Back Your Cities.
We're in our second printing now,
and as we've distributed that book,
one of the majorministries in the country,
Aglow International, madeit recommended reading,
so that all stateintercession leaders from
around the country havebeen ordering quantities
of our books and they distribute them.
- Awesome.- So exciting, Randy.
- Awesome, Randy.- We just applaud you
with your efforts, we thankGod for what you all are doing.
And now that it's spreadingall over the world,
man, it just makes mewanna get out on the street
and claim the land.- Take back your cities.
Randy, thank you somuch for being with us.
And you can find the book, Name Your Gates
and Take Back Your Citieswherever books are sold.
- [Wendy] Hallelujah.
- And up next, I sit downwith Phil and Kay Robertson
to talk faith, culture and family.
Stay with us.(upbeat music)
- I was Muslim for four years.
I had spells cast on me.
Just everything you can think of.
I never got what I was looking for.
There was no real power to change my life.
I had tried everything,it just came to a point
where it was like, you know what,
I don't wanna do this anymore.
The little old lady at the church,
she'd come and get me, she prayed for me.
And all I know is I felt the love of God.
We would read from Genesis to Revelation,
and we just went deep in the Word of God.
Everything about me,even my very countenance,
began to change after that point.
And now I just have a desire to see them
experience the loving kindness of God
that I have experienced,to see that true change
is possible and that what you thought
that you were looking forcan only be found in Christ.
(majestic music)
- I am here with Phil and Kay Robertson.
We all know them from Duck Dynasty.
Welcome to Prayer Link, guys.
- Thank you.
- You guys have a book out, Phil,
wonderful book, TheTheft Of America's Soul.
Very important book atthis time in our culture.
First of all, for those whomay not know your testimony,
how did you come to faith in Jesus Christ?
- Well, a preacher came to a bar
and he's going to try toconvert me in that bar.
And I'm about half drunk, you know,
and I'm listening tohim, so I was mean to him
and ran him off.
About a year later or so,I had run Miss Kay off,
the kids, and life was, and Miss Kay said,
"Why don't you talk to that old guy
"who was brave enoughto come into the bar?"
And for the first time in my 28 years,
I actually heard that Jesushad come down in flesh,
died for my sins, I had a lot of 'em,
and was buried and raised from the dead.
There was my physicaldeath problem solved.
So I hear that, and I'm like,
how in the world did I ever miss that?
- Wow, that's amazing.
- Well, he wasn't withthe people that would
be sharing that, either, were you?
I called him the devil, because that's how he acted.
- Speaking of the devil, onceJesus sets you free from him,
I look back, I didn't know I was
under the control of the devil
until Jesus released me from him.
Once I got out from underhis control, I looked back
at where I had been andI thought to myself,
"What was I thinking?"
- I knew that when we first were together,
he was a good, good person.
Had a good heart and everything.
But then he got under thecontrol of the evil one
and off he went.
- You got a text like First John 5:19,
we know we are the children of God,
'cause all of us have beenon both sides of this,
we know we are the children of God
and the whole world, everybody who's not in Jesus,
are controlled by the evil one.
That's pretty scary.- That is very scary.
- That's why I wrote thebook, and someone says,
I noticed you didn'tuse terms like liberals,
conservatives-- You called it what it is.
- I just blamed our problems on the devil
and what he's done to us.- Yes.
And speaking of the book, the motivation for it.
We're living in a time rightnow where we're seeing things
that we've never seen in our culture.
- And when you read oldwritings 2,000 years old,
they're as pertinent today as they were
when they were written,so I'm just gonna try to,
through the book, just to remind America,
look at the lawlessness and look
at the robbery, rape, mayhem-
- It's playing out right before our eyes,
we're seeing thescriptures being unfolded.
- I think that, especially when I hear
about the colleges and all, it's terrible.
Because they're not getting about God,
they're getting all this other.
And I see also people arenot grateful nowadays.
Kids are just out of control.
- About 2,050 you won't even recognize it.
You'll say, what in the worldever happened to America?
You already see this undercurrent
of socialism comingup, you already see it.
I reject all words with i-s-m behind them.
Socialism, communism,atheism, agnosticism,
humanism, I said I rejectall isms except two.
That's capitalism and baptism.
(laughing)
Those two I hold on to,all the rest of 'em-
- Who helps you remember those?
- Miss Kay does, I said, "You know,
"I don't even know whetherthere's an ism in the Bible?"
And Miss Kay's lying onthe couch and she said,
"Baptism."- Amen, Miss Kay.
- I said, "Miss Kay,you're right about that."
- Miss Kay, remember.
- That's the only ismthat you're gonna find
in the entire Bible, baptism, that's it.
Everything else is notin there, pretty amazing.
You know, if you look at it, humanism,
atheism, socialism, it'sjust cheap concoctions
by man to try to get around God.
- Christians right now arereally faced with this pressure.
You keep your mouth shut, youdon't say anything about God.
What do you say to Christians who fear
speaking out about theirfaith in the public square?
- This John the baptist takes off.
- The bottom line is, you say,
we ran God out of the school system.
We took the 10 commandmentsout of the courthouses,
which is where you go whenyou break the 10 commandments.
You say, that oughta bewhere they would put 'em.
And we ran them out of theinstitutions of higher learning.
We ran 'em out ofgovernment, we ran 'em out,
you're like, so how'sthat working out for us?
- How would you encourageChristians to speak up?
- A lady that's a friendof mine that's a teacher
at one of our poorer schoolssaid there was a little boy,
I think he was likeseven or eight years old,
and he went into the lunchroom and he asked the teacher,
he said, "Miss," whatever her name was,
he said, "Can everybody at my table today,
"could I say a prayer likethey do on Duck Dynasty?"
- Oh wow.- And they let him.
And then the next group said,"Why are they doing that?"
And they said, "Don'tyou watch Duck Dynasty?
"You pray when you sit at the table."
And they told me aboutthat, all just went through
that little school likethat, because one little boy
stood up and said that.
- Look at the impact that you had.
- But I think people arejust scared of confrontation
or whatever, or they'll think,I don't know all the Bible.
- We've gotta be bold for Christ.
The bible says the righteousare as bold as a lion.
- And this one, I callhim John the baptist,
but he just became a Christian
and went to preaching right off the bat.
But other people, like I cook for him,
or I encourage him or I just love on him.
Somebody in one of mygroups said, "You've never
"been loved unless you'reloved by Miss Kay."
That's what they said, made me feel so good.
- Well, you're such a sweetheart.
- Salt and light of the world,
and that can't be accomplished by,
as they call it, going to church.
You have to be this way, loving, kind, gentle,
patience, goodness, self-control,
you have to watch your mouth.
You have to be that way all the time.
- [Charlene] Not just on Sundays.
- That way your culture seesthat, and they're like, hm.
We've just confinedGod to these structures
on the side of the road onetime a week, it's not enough.
- He said let your light so shine, why?
- Worship every day.- So that they may see.
- That's right.- That is right.
- See your good works.
So, what's your message in this book?
What do you hope people, when they read it,
that they walk away andtake away from this?
- Woven throughout thewhole thing is simply
God coming down in flesh, your calendar documents it,
2,018 years ago God becomes flesh,
dies on a cross for the sins of the world,
is buried, like we all will be,
and three days later, whoops,we have been delivered
from physical death, a wayof escape has now appeared.
That's why it's thegreatest story ever told.
He spent 40 days, Hegoes back and sits down,
the bible says, to intercede for us
so that not only wereour past sins removed,
the blood that He shed,no sin that we ever commit
will be counted against us.
And there's immortality waiting on us.
That's really what I'veweaved throughout each thing.
I would say, don't forget now,
there's a way off planet Earth alive.
Look, here's the deal, America,if the bible's not true,
we're never getting out of here, ever.
Unless someone has a better story,
and so far I've not heard it.
- [Charlene] Ever.- Ever.

- Welcome back, before we go,here's the word of the week
from our good friend, evangelist Matt Brown.
- I'm a Christian, but I'm not perfect.
In fact, I have many imperfections.
But I'll tell you this,I don't even want to know
where I would be without Jesus.
Christians are not perfect, and the bible makes that clear.
When you look to the writingsto the early churches,
they had a ton of problems.
And the crazy thing is,the bible doesn't even try
to cover it up, it justtells it like it is.
Christians are not perfect, but when we come to Christ,
He works in us to follow Him,
and He works to love otherpeople around us through us.
Christians aren't perfect,but the trajectory
of our lives is completelydifferent when we come to Christ.
I was sitting down with myfriend Lee Strobel recently,
and he shared the differencethat Christ has made
in his life over the last 30 years
since he put his trust in Christ
and the difference thatit made in his family
and his kids and now in his grandkids.
The trajectory of his lifeis completely different
than what it would havebeen, all because of Jesus.
It's basically the differencebetween taking a plane
to either New York City or to Los Angeles.
It's completely different directions.
Second Corinthians 5:17 saysthat if anyone is in Christ,
they are a new creation.
The old things have passed away,
and the new things have come.
- Amen, good word.
And if you're looking forsolid bible teachings,

You can also follow him on Instagram.
- Well, it has been a fantastic show.
Thanks so much for being with us.
That's gonna do it for thisedition of the Prayer Link.
- Until next time, God bless you.
And remember, prayer works, keep praying.
