GENESIS 6:6 (NIV): "THE LORD REGRETTED THAT HE HAD MADE HUMAN BEINGS ON THE EARTH, AND HIS HEART WAS DEEPLY TROUBLED." IS THIS HOW GOD FEELS? HOW DO YOU START YOUR DAY?

Well, we want to take
a few minutes to bring it
on with some of
the email questions
that you all have sent in.
And this first
one, Gordon, comes
from Michelle who says, "My
husband is very religious.
He reads the Bible
every day and watches
several religious programs.
He considers himself a fervent
Christian and that he is very,
quote, 'close to God.'
He's a very negative,
angry person.
He sees the bad in
everything and everyone.
His favorite quote
is from Genesis 6:6--
'The Lord regretted that He had
made human beings on the earth,
and His heart was
deeply troubled.'
He's quoting the
Bible, so does this
mean that this is God's
feeling and the attitude?
I thought God was a loving God."
GORDON ROBERTSON: Michelle,
you thought right.
God is a loving God.
And even in the middle of the
judgment on all of mankind,
which was the flood,
there was the redemption.
He found Noah a righteous
man in his generation.
And he saved him and
all of his family.
And then, when he found
Abraham, he made a covenant.
That through him, all
the nations of the world
would be blessed.
And that covenant was
fulfilled in Jesus Christ.
And the Bible says, "For God
so loved the world that he
gave his only begotten son."
So God loves people.
God loves everyone.
He's not looking
at their problems.
He's looking, how can
I provide a solution?
And that solution is Jesus.
I would encourage you to
pray for your husband.
I would encourage
that the love of God
would be shed abroad
in your heart.
That he would see that
and respond to that.
It's the goodness
of God that leads
to all change in our thoughts.
And so, when you
look at the goodness,
then you start to say, why
do I want to be bitter?
Why do I want to be
angry, judgmental?
All of those things.
And you start to see
things with God's eyes.
And God's eyes are always,
"God so loved the world."
Very good.
This is a viewer who says, "How
do you both start your days?
I always feel rushed
and never seemed
to feel like I have
time to spend in prayer.
Do you have any tips?"
GORDON ROBERTSON: Terry,
do you feel rushed?
Most of the time
I feel rushed.
But, you know what?
Well, my day starts
in the shower.
I start talking to
the Lord right away,
and I don't stop all day long.
He's probably very tired
of hearing from me, but--
No, he's not.
Well, you know, we're
raising a young granddaughter
right now.
And so, mornings--
GORDON ROBERTSON: Yeah,
I was going to say.
Aren't the great time
of the day for me anymore.
We're doing backpacks,
lunches, getting dressed.
But evenings, I love to stay
up till everybody in my house
has gone to bed.
And then, I just have
quiet time with the Lord.
I've got my books ready to go,
and that's my time with God.
But I do pray all day long.
Prayer isn't something I just--
Yeah, it's good
to set aside time.
Back in my days in
Manila, I actually
had the luxury of starting
every day for two hours.
TERRY MEEUWSEN: Oh wow.
And I got into this
tithe at the time.
And like you, you know,
things get very busy.
TERRY MEEUWSEN: Yeah.
And particularly
here in America, it's
like we're a very busy culture.
It is a faster paced country.
You know, please don't bother
to talk to me because I'm busy.
It's unfortunate because we're
not really enjoying life,
we're enjoying our busyness.
And so, you've got
to steal the time.
TERRY MEEUWSEN: Yeah, you do.
And you have to find ways to
say, OK, I have some downtime
now.
I love these wonderful
smartphones to carry with you.
They--
TERRY MEEUWSEN: Absolutely.
And
They can get you a Bible at
any point in time you are--
you can say, OK--
And devotionals, and, yes.
Here we go.
Exactly.
And you can structure
a life to actually enjoy
the presence of the Lord.
TERRY MEEUWSEN:
Yeah, but I do think
God helps give sanity in the
midst of our crazy schedules,
but you have to--
I'm not yet there where
I'm praying in the shower.
TERRY MEEUWSEN: Well, your loss.
I'm not as holy as you.
[LAUGHTER]
I get rid of the dirt there.
The drive time
is a wonderful time
to put on some
praise and worship,
or listen to an audio Bible.
And you can have a quiet
time just on your commute.
