Well, joining me now is a man who's

seen miracles in over 70 nations through healing crusades.

He's my dear friend and founder of Lifeline International

Ministries, all the way here from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

And Vernon, it's awesome to have you here.

This is Vernon Falls.

And I just want to kick it off with how did you get started?

What got you started in believing in miracles?

What got me started in believing in miracles

is I went to a miracle healing crusade,

and it was by a guy named Grant Baker.

And he had the same anointing that Kathryn Kuhlman

had on her ministry.

And that was the first time I ever got slain in the Spirit.

I didn't even know what slain in the Spirit was.

But I saw the reality of Jesus, people getting healed,

people getting set free, and then myself on the floor.

I just couldn't believe that could happen.

But that's what started me, started the hunger in me.

GORDON ROBERTSON: What went through your head

during that time?

I mean, you know, this has got to be a new experience for you.

What did you think was really going on?

It was like, wow, is this really real?

[LAUGHTER]

Because to me, Christianity, what I had heard,

there were no more signs, no more wonders, no more miracles.

They went out with the apostles.

So to see that Jesus is the same yesterday, today,

and forever, it was just awesome, just very awesome.

Yeah, and you just want more of that.

Just want more and more of that, more and more of that.

So I pressed in for that.

All right, now in pressing in for it, what were you,

what were you trying to achieve?

Were you trying to achieve I get to go to more meetings

where I see other people doing it?

Or were you pressing in, I want to do this?

I pressed in I want to do this.

This is what I want.

I desire this greatly.

And is that the key?

Is that, you know, it becomes your central focus?

That's the key.

That's the key.

Because then the Holy Spirit started working in me.

He developed me in the area of a devotional life, Word life,

and then going out putting into practice what I have learned.

GORDON ROBERTSON: All right.

I'll come out of the other side because the first time the Holy

Spirit spoke to me and said, I want to heal the sick today,

my response was, no, you don't.

[LAUGHTER]

GORDON ROBERTSON: I didn't, I didn't want to be that.

I'd seen, I guess, too much of the bad side of healing

ministries that, you know, the whole question, is it real.

VERNON FALLS: Yeah.

GORDON ROBERTSON: And you know, works of faith,

I'd seen the genuine.

But I'd also seen the less than genuine,

to be charitable about it.

And I didn't want to do that.

What would you say to somebody like me whose first response

was no you don't.

Well, I saw nothing, so seeing nothing and seeing something

as well.

For someone who has experienced it, you've seen it.

I would just say, God's going to touch you.

You can run, but you can't hide.

Your arms are too short to box with God.

He's going to hit you.

GORDON ROBERTSON: Well, that's what

happened to me in that meeting.

[LAUGHTER]

I've argued with God a whole lot in my life,

and you end up losing.

You go, OK, all right, if this is what You want to do,

and You're sure You, You chose me, OK, I'll go along.

Yeah, just say yes.

I like to remind God, You chose me.

VERNON FALLS: Yeah, that's right.

You chose me.

And it seems to work.

But you had a hunger for it.

I had a hunger for it.

So what was your first lesson in how

to translate that hunger into action,

and then that action into something

real where somebody gets healed?

Well, I had to press into God.

And the Holy Spirit started leading me

in fasting, prayer, all these things He

started leading me in.

In fact, the very first day I got filled with the Holy Ghost,

speaking in other tongues.

Now I have no knowledge of this, Gordon, no knowledge

whatsoever.

I didn't know Jesus heals anything

of that particular nature.

I felt that if I would lay my hands on somebody,

they would get healed.

I just felt that.

I didn't even know how to use the name of Jesus,

but I felt that if I would do that, people would get healed.

GORDON ROBERTSON: That's unusual, you know,

that you just, I would, I would call that a conviction.

VERNON FALLS: Yeah, that's what it was.

GORDON ROBERTSON: Was there any demonstration

that it was going to work?

VERNON FALLS: It was no demonstration.

It was just something that I knew.

I had the Holy Ghost in me.

I know I went to this one particular church one time,

and the guy had me to get up and preach,

you know, if you're a man, they automatically

put you on the platform.

So I got up there.

I don't know anything to preach.

I don't know any scriptures.

So I just started praying in tongues, OK.

And I prayed in tongues and prayed in tongues.

And this lady came up dancing in front of the platform.

And I laid hands on her, and found out

she got healed of arthritis.

[LAUGHTER]

That's a good sermon.

They said after that, we've never heard a sermon like this

before.

[LAUGHTER]

Well, sermons, I believe sermons should demonstrate.

VERNON FALLS: Amen, I'm in agreement with that.

You know, that if it doesn't demonstrate, then sort of,

you know, I'm not trying to be casual here,

but what good is it?

VERNON FALLS: That's right.

You know, if God doesn't reach down into the here

and now, you know, if it's just your philosophy of Him--

VERNON FALLS: That's right.

You know, what good is it?

I guess I learned that in the villages of India.

VERNON FALLS: Oh, yeah.

Where they had every single philosophy or religion and some

we've never heard of.

That's very true.

And they knew it, and here are villagers

that knew more theological philosophies than I had ever

been taught.

And if you didn't have demonstrations of power,

well, they really weren't going to pay attention to it.

That's right.

In fact, the very first time we went to India,

they were kind of skeptical.

Now the pastor had seen our ministry.

But the rest of the people didn't.

And one of his assistant pastors said, are you sure

this guy works miracles, because if he doesn't work miracles,

they're going to stone us.

[LAUGHTER]

That's putting it on the line.

So you have to show something.

It's not, you know, well, that's what the scripture says.

It comes not only, you know, it comes with power, you know,

with power.

The gospel is the power of God.

That's right.

Unto salvation, unto miracles, unto baptisms, you announce it,

you should expect it.

That's right.

Yeah, you're out there sowing seeds,

and you need to have those seeds germinate.

VERNON FALLS: Need to have those germinate, that's for sure.

[LAUGHTER]

What was your first miracle?

First--

GORDON ROBERTSON: Was it the lady with arthritis?

The lady with-- no, the first miracle was my niece.

She had this eye condition.

She couldn't drive at night.

And I was one day praying in tongues, Lord,

just let me pray in tongues.

I didn't, I wasn't going to church or anything

of that particular nature.

But the Holy Spirit is in us.

He lives with us forever.

And--

GORDON ROBERTSON: You can have church with Him

anytime you want.

That's right.

Started praying in tongues, started praying in tongues,

and I called her into my room, laid hands on her,

and she got instantly healed.

That was the first miracle that I ever

experienced was with my niece.

What would you tell somebody watching right now, who

says, OK, I've got the hunger, but I don't know what to do

or how to translate it into that conviction,

that if I lay hands on someone, if I pray for someone,

I'm going to get a result. What would you tell them?

I would tell them today, go to a place where God is moving

and learn and learn.

You have to learn to do these things.

The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians, chapter 14,

you have to learn to prophesy.

And you need to go to a place where

God is moving, where there's signs, where there's wonders,

where there's miracles.

You can easily here get online at "The 700 Club,"

and you can learn some of these things, too.

GORDON ROBERTSON: Yeah, but it's different

when you're there in person.

That's very true.

That's very true.

I think people really need to be challenged

to step out in faith.

VERNON FALLS: That's true.

Because so often that, you know,

and the enemy will beat you up.

I mean, he will come along and say, you're not worthy enough,

or you haven't fasted enough, or you

haven't gone to church enough, or you

haven't read enough Bible, or you

can't quote this verse in the Greek or whatever.

Yeah.

You know, all about you're not good enough.

VERNON FALLS: That's right, the attention is on you,

not on God.

Right.

And you've got to get through that.

You've got to go, well, He enables me.

Amen.

You're absolutely right I'm not good enough.

But He is, and He has said, I get to do,

these signs shall follow them that believe.

VERNON FALLS: Amen.

And I believe.

VERNON FALLS: Amen.

So I would say, go to a place where God is moving,

where God is moving.

And then get out of the boat, and get on the water.

That's right, that's right, all my students over the years,

I put them on the spot, even my Suma, I put her on the spot,

you know.

GORDON ROBERTSON: For those watching,

Suma is Margarethe, his wife.

And we just pray grace over her right now.

[LAUGHTER]

But I have found you have to throw people into the deep end

really.

I mean, just enough of the excuses.

That's right.

You know, you've learned enough, you've studied enough,

and the real key is do you have the Holy Spirit in you.

Yes.

And I will, I've gotten even real bold with folks.

Did you get the weak Jesus?

Yeah.

I mean, which Jesus did you get?

True.

And stop confessing He's not able, or He doesn't want to.

He's the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Like you said, you must get them out of the boat.

I remember when I first learned to swim,

my swimming instructor said now, if you

don't jump into this deep water, I'm

going to hit you in your head.

And I went to, swoop, and from then on, I learned how to swim.

All right.

I won't hit you in the head, but I'll

pray the Holy Spirit hits you in the head.

VERNON FALLS: Amen.
