The group, Home Free, burst
on the scene a few years ago,
but that doesn't mean
that they're a new group.
They've spent the last 10 years
performing on college campuses,
at county fairs, and for
Fortune 500 companies.
Now, the world is taking notice.
REPORTER: America fell in
love with the sweet harmony
of a cappella group, Home
Free, during season 4
of NBC's "The Sing Off."

COUNTRY HARMONY"]
ALL: (SINGING) Won't
you sing for me.
Sing for me, yeah.
REPORTER: The group has
been singing together
for over a decade.
But since their win, their
popularity has skyrocketed.
They've been busy releasing
albums and touring the US.
Today, they'll share a
big dose of country style
Christmas spirit, singing
from their new album, "Full
of (Even More) Cheer."

COUNTRY HARMONY"]
ALL: (SINGING) Just
one thing that'll
kick off more perfectly.
Well, with us now are
the members of Home Free.
And we welcome them to
the 700 Club-- all of you.
Hello.
I'm gonna ask Austin-- right?
Yes, ma'am.
That's right.
I'm gonna ask you to introduce
everybody, if you will.
Absolutely.
My pleasure.
Yeah.
Down here on the end,
we have got Adam Chance.
Hi, Adam.
He's our baritone.
He also sings bass sometimes.
This is Rob Lundquist.
He's our lead tenor--
Nice to meet you.
--and in-house
lovable Teddy bear.
[LAUGHTER] That's
a good [INAUDIBLE].
This is Tim.
He's got the money voice.
He sings all the low notes.
TERRY MEEUWSEN: Hi, Tim.
AUSTIN: It's just
good to hear him talk.
TERRY MEEUWSEN: Oh, yeah.
And then we've got Adam Rupp.
He's our beatboxer
extraordinaire.
TERRY MEEUWSEN: Nice
to have you here.
So how did you get
to "The Sing Off"?
How did that happen for you all?
Actually, the group had
auditioned all three times--
or four times-- that
the show had come on.
But it was the first time
this particular lineup
had auditioned together.
And so I guess the
magic happened.
TERRY MEEUWSEN: And they said
that you offered something
that they didn't
have at that time.
How do you describe your style?
Well, it's sort of dumb luck.
We're the first ever--
TERRY MEEUWSEN:
A lot of life is.
Isn't it?
[LAUGHTER]
Right.
--all vocal country group.
Wow.
And it's not something we
necessarily set out to do.
It just happened, and
the world responded.
But you've been
singing for a long time.
I imagine all of you-- even
though bringing the group
together has been a more
recent scenario for you.
But a lot of you grew
up singing in church.
How did that impact what you do?
Oh, yeah.
A lot of us grew up in church.
Adam's mother still
plays in church.
My father was a
southern gospel singer.
He had a group for
a while-- traveled
all over the southeastern
United States.
So I did that with him a lot.
I was in every kind of
church that there is-- just
about-- singing with him.
I just grew up in that culture.
And, yeah, so that was a big
part of my musical inspiration.
And here we are now.
And that's true
for a lot of people
that you hear in
the music industry--
Oh, absolutely.
Yeah.
--that they started in church,
that there are just some--
Everybody started at church.
--roots.
And there's some message and
some soul there that just
impacts everything that you do.
So after you won "The
Sing Off," you've been--
was it two years ago your
first album released in 2014--
That's right.
Yeah.
--was it?
And now, you're ninth?
Tell me about that.
TIM: Well, we just
released a special edition
of our Christmas album.
And people really respond to
a cappella Christmas music
so it works out well for us.
So here you are.
You're life on the
road, [LAUGHTER]
which is a challenge in itself.
I've done just a
little bit of that
compared to what you're doing.
How do you balance that
with your real life?
TIM: It can be tricky.
But we've kind of got it down
to a science at this point.
Some of the guys have
families at home.
And luckily, with the
new age of technology,
you're able to really
keep in touch with people.
And these new fathers here
are able to video chat--
How many of you are dads?
Really?
--with their little girls.
Congratulations.
Thank you so much.
Adam, congratulations.
That's great.
So Skype is your new
friend, huh? [LAUGHTER]
Right.
All the time.
And we all have such a great
support system around us,
as well.
Absolutely.
That's wonderful.
Do you see yourselves
doing this long term?
I hope so.
We'll do it as long
as people will listen.
AUSTIN: Yeah.
Absolutely.
TERRY MEEUWSEN: That's awesome.
What do you want people to take
away from the new release--
the Christmas release?
We just want people
to be uplifted
by listening to our music.
And it seems like they are.
TERRY MEEUWSEN: Yeah.
It's a wonderful thing.
I don't know about
everybody at home,
but I'm always looking
for wonderful music
that you can put on in
your house that just kind
of enhances the
spirit of Christmas
and that pulls
everything together.
You've got a great sound.
Everybody is singing
your praises.
And it must be really fun to
connect together and finally
get the opportunity to do what
you have a passion and a love
for.
Absolutely.
So we want to hear from
you in just a moment.
But if you want even
more, get their album.
It's called "Full of
(Even More) Cheer."
You can get a digital
download online, or the CD,
which is sold
exclusively at Walmart.
