Time to bring it on with
your e-mail questions.
And Gordon, this first
one is from Erin who says,
how do we know when we've
truly forgiven someone?
Clearly, God knows
what's in our hearts.
But how do we know we're
not fooling ourselves?
[LAUGHING]
Over thinking that, Erin.
Erin, you might want to
know what's in your own heart
and be honest with yourself.
I have found, for me,
forgiveness is an act.
And if I'm having trouble really
truly forgiving from my heart,
I need to keep on forgiving
and keep on saying, I forgive.
I release them.
They owe nothing to me.
I want forgiveness
for what I've done,
and I need to forgive them.
I can't go to God with
unforgiveness in my heart.
I need to leave this.
And then call on
Him to help you.
When you finally get
that breakthrough
is when you don't
wince anymore when
you remember what happened.
And then even beyond that, you
don't even remember it anymore.
It's completely gone from you.
And I would encourage you
to keep forgiving until you
get to that breakthrough.
There's a whole level
of joy that comes
where it no longer hurts you.
And one of the problems
with holding on
to bitterness and revenge
and I'm going to get you back
and all those kinds of feelings
is that you're actually
hurting yourself.
And medical science
says that when
we do that, when we think
these kinds of thoughts,
we're destroying ourselves.
We're affecting
our immune system.
We're affecting our heart
function, all of these things.
Get rid of it.
Get free from it.
And get to a place where
you can truly love.
Amen.
This is a viewer who
says, my daughter
heard a preacher say
it was imperative
that we worship on the
Jewish Sabbath of Saturday
and that it was changed to
Sunday to keep us from it.
I only know of the
Seventh Day Adventists
who worship on Saturday.
Besides them, I've never
heard of any church changing
to a Saturday service.
Does it matter?
Well, it matters for the
Seventh Day Adventists,
and they hold to that.
And I honor them for that.
Within the Christian
tradition, it
goes all the way back to the
apostle John and his writing
in Revelation.
It was the Lord's day,
and I was in the Spirit.
And the Lord's day was Sunday.
It was the
resurrection day, which
is why we celebrate Sunday.
We celebrate the
resurrection of Jesus Christ.
And if you're concerned
about the sabbath,
I really like a two day weekend.
And you can have both days,
and you can celebrate,
remember God, on both.
We leave you this
word from Psalm 91--
"For he shall give His
angels charge over you,
to keep you in all your ways."
