NARRATOR: Every day of his life,
and especially during storms,
8-year-old Antony wondered
if his house would collapse.
It had already
happened once before.
[NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
INTERPRETER: My
house rolled down.
And I was so scared.
We were inside when the
whole house fell off
the stakes it was on.
[NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
INTERPRETER: We
tried to get out.
But the house was
swinging like a hammock.
I threw myself over
my kids like this.
But we still got struck
with boards and nails.
NARRATOR: Then, his house
collapsed a second time.
His mother wanted to find
another place for them to live.
But with the few dollars she
makes selling vegetables,
there was barely
enough for food.
So, the first thing
Operation Blessing
did when we met the
family was build
them a new sturdy wooden house
with a pitched metal roof.
[NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
INTERPRETER: My
house is safe now.
The wind doesn't come in.
And we feel very safe inside.
NARRATOR: Next,
Operation Blessing
gave the children their
own beds, the very first
that they've ever had.
[NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
INTERPRETER: I love my new bed.
It's the best.
NARRATOR: Finally, to help
Sandra support her family,
we expanded her
vegetable business.
And we gave her fish to sell.
Her income has now tripled.
INTERPRETER: Now I can pay for
their school fees and uniforms
and other things we need.
INTERPRETER: Thank
you Operation Blessing
for my new house and new bed.
