THEY SAID HE WASN'T BIG
ENOUGH, FAST ENOUGH OR STRONG
ENOUGH TO PLAY IN THE NFL BUT
NOW IN THE SECOND SEASON WITH
THE WASHINGTON REDSKINS ALFRED
MORRIS HAS PROVEN THE CRITICS
WRONG. HIS ROCKY YEAR WAS ONE
FOR THE RECORD BOOKS AND SECOND
IN BEHIND ADRIAN PETERSON AND
NOT BAD FOR A LITTLE GUY FROM
FLORIDA ATLANTIC UNIVERSITY.
WHEN YOU HEARD ALL OF THE
THINGS AND THE YARDS RUSHING
--.
THAT'S YOU AND BEGINNING TO END
WHAT GOES ON IN YOUR MIND?
IT'S SUCH A BLESSING. I
CAN'T TAKE ANY CREDIT FOR THAT
AND ALL THE GLORY TO GOD AND I
WENT TO FAU AND IT WAS JUST A
BLESSING.
ALFRED WAS RAISED IN A
CHRISTIAN HOME BUT WASN'T ALL
IN
WHEN BUILDING A RELATIONSHIP
WITH GOD.
I GREW UP IN CHURCH BUT NOT
MY GOD AND MY BROTHER SAID HE'S
OUR PARENTS GOD BUT NOT OUR GOD.
EVEN IN COLLEGE HE WENT TO
CHURCH BUT IT WAS HABIT AND HE
DIDN'T GIVE HIS LIFE OVER TO
GOD.
I GAVE GLORY TO GOD BUT I
WAS
1 FOOT IN AND 1 FOOT OUT.
IN HIS JEERN YEAR HE
REALIZED
HAVING A PART TIME RELATIONSHIP
WITH GOD DOESN'T WORK.
WHAT KIND OF THINGS?
I WAS DEALING WITH THE
STRESS
OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL AND WORKING
A FULL TIME JOB AND FULL TIME
AGHTD LITE AND NOT THE JOB BUT
YOU'RE NOT GETTING PAID AND
YOU'RE A FULL TIME STUDENT SO
IT'S SO MUCH AND JUGGLE THIS
AND
THAT AND TOUGH AND DEALING WITH
THAT AND BALANCING THAT OUT.
ALFRED GOT TO A POINT HE
COULDN'T DEAL WITH THE STRESS
ANYMORE AND DECIDED TO TURN HIS
LIFE OVER TO THE LORD.
I WENT TO MY LOWEST POINT
AND
I CAN'T DO IT AND I SURRENDER
AND I GAVE GOD MY HEART THAT
DAY
AND IT HAPPENED EVER SINCE.
WHEN HE RESTORED THE
RELATIONSHIP HE REALIZED WHAT
HE
WAS MISSING.
AND I REALIZED THIS WORLD IS
FULL OF TEMPORARY SATISFACTION
AND THAT'S TERRIBLE. WHERE DID
I DO THAT? BUT ONCE I WENT TO
GOD AND I WAS MISSING OUT AND
HALF FOOT IN AND HALF FOOT OUT
AND I WAS MISSING ALL OF THIS.
GOD COMPLETED ME AND THE
MISSING
PIECE OF THE PUZZLE AND MAN I
WANT EVERYONE TO FEEL THE LOVE
AND JOY WHEN YOU GET BY GIVING
YOUR LOVE TO GOD.
ALFRED HAD A SHOT AT THE NFL
BUT AFTER A ROUGH SENIOR YEAR
AND LOSING YEAR IT LOOKED LIKE
HE WOULDN'T MAKE IT SO HE
PLACED
HIS FUTURE IN GOD'S HAND.
I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING
TO HAPPEN WITH THE DRAFT
SITUATION AND I WAS WHERE I
NEEDED TO BE AND THE TEAMS AND
A
SENSE OF HUMOR. I NEVER
THOUGHT
THAT THE REDKINS WOULD BE THE
ONE THAT WOULD DRAFT ME AND THE
COUCH.
NOW ALFRED IS IN THE SECOND
SEASON WITH WASHINGTON AND
WANTS
EVERYONE TO KNOW THAT EVERY
RUSHING YARD OR RECEPTION OR
TOUCH DOWN IS FOR THE GLORY OF
GOD.
THE REASON I PLAY AND IT'S A
GIFT AND I USE IT AND NOT JUST
PRACTICE AND GAME DAY AND
ALWAYS
GIVING MY ALL AND I WANT TO
MAKE
SURE GOD IS HAPPY WITH THE GIFT
AND WITHOUT HIM I WOULD BE BE
HERE TODAY AND PLAYING WITH THE
REDSKINS AND WITHOUT CHRIST AND
WE ARE ALL SAVED BY CHRIST AND
THANK FOR THE SACRIFICE AND
THAT'S WHAT I DO EVERYDAY AND I
AM GLAD I DID THAT AND IT'S
SUCH
A BLESSING.
