CBN.com —Every night, Mr. and Mrs. Yan went into their daughter’s room to pray for her. They always thanked God for her gentle spirit and asked him to please make a way for her to walk normally. Jia Mu had a dislocated hip.
Mrs. Yan shares, “She had a problem when she was just two. She could not walk right and seemed to be lame. I figured she was young and would eventually be fine. But then the doctor did an x-ray and said my Jia Mu needed surgery!”
Mr. Yan is a pastor and the couple is poor, so they had no way to pay for surgery. Mr. Yan reports, “The doctor told us it would cost almost $5000 and we only had $1500.
The Yans knew that without hip surgery, Jia Mu would have a rough life ahead. “If she did not get help, she would limp her entire life,” Mr. Yan says.
Mrs. Yan adds, “If she always limped, people would laugh at her. No matter how wonderful a person she is or how happy or brave, people would still reject her. And it would be hard for her to get married or find a job.”
Even at her young age, Jia Mu seemed to understand how much she needed help.
Mrs. Yan remembers, “Whenever I bought anything, even groceries, Jia Mu asked me to please save the money for surgery instead. I told her that we believed the Lord would make a way for her.
Then a friend told Mr. Yan about CBN, and we offered to help pay for Jia Mu’s hip surgery and follow-up treatments.
Mr. Yan exclaims, “I immediately said Praise you Lord!”
The surgery was a success. Today, Jia Mu can walk and run better than ever before. The Yan’s say CBN partners were the answer to all of their prayers.
“Even though you are far away, our hearts are knit together. You did not hesitate when the Lord touched your heart to help the poor,” says Mr. Yan with appreciation. “I thank you for your help. Now my daughter is healthy and praying for you every day, as are my wife and I. May the Lord bless and reward you!”
