Imagine being only five years old and getting locked up every school day in a tiny room, all alone, for a whole year! That was the reality for Lah, a young boy from a very poor family in Laos. Thanks to Orphan’s Promise partnerships, Lah’s world is now filled with hope, love, and exciting new opportunities he may otherwise never have experienced.
This year, 290 Roma families, raising more than 1,000 children, are participating in the SEED Project, which stands for Something to Eat Every Day. By giving the people in this community the tools they need to succeed and become self-sufficient, we are breaking the cycle of poverty. When poverty is taken out of the equation, the number of orphans is reduced significantly.
