Dozens Recovering from Mexico City Hospital Blast
More than 70 victims are recovering from their injuries after a massive explosion destroyed most of a maternity hospital in Mexico City Thursday.
At least one adult and two babies were killed, and several more victims were left in critical condition due to the disaster caused by a powerful gas explosion.
The blast collapsed about three-fourths of the hospital, and firefighters and emergency crews raced through rubble as nurses and moms carried crying infants from the wreckage.
Operation Blessing was on the scene of the tragedy within moments to offer aid. An Operation Blessing worker lives in the neighborhood and felt the powerful blast in his home.
He helped to organize a mobile kitchen effort with the Operation Blessing Mexico team, feeding thousands of meals to rescue workers, doctors, and other first responders at the site.
