"Woodlawn" is a new film that relives the story of a spiritual awakening that captured the heart of the Woodlawn High School football team in the 1970s.

The Alabama team fought against racial prejudice and hatred.

The Erwin Brothers film introduces audiences to a few new faces on the big screen. And one of those new faces is young actor Devin Bright.

The 7-year-old plays Cedric Nathan. Cedric is the younger brother of the main character, Tony Nathan, who is played by Caleb Castille.

Bright said he loved being a part of this film, which stars veteran cast, including: Jon Voight, Sean Astin and Sherri Shepherd.

"I'm happy to be a part of this film and to be playing this character because it shows what can happen when people come together and what can happen when God is part of what you do," Bright said.

The film script also moved Hollywood's Mark Burnett and Roma Downey to sign on as executive producers.

Bright, who also plays piano and studies Tae Kwon Do, took time from his busy schedule to chat with CBN News' Efrem Graham about his new film.

"Woodlawn" hits theaters Friday, October 16, 2015.
