Jesse Jackson Apologizes to Obama

CBNNews.com - Rev. Jesse Jackson has apologized for disparaging remarks he made about Sen. Barack Obama.

Jackson was preparing for an interview on Fox News when he whispered to another guest that he would like to physically hurt obama for talking down to black people.
Jackson said he did not know his microphone was on at the time.
His comments caused a political firestorm that he was forced to address in a news conference last night.
"Anything I've said in a hot mic statement that has contributed as a distraction I offer an apology for that because I don't want to harm or hurt the campaign."
A campaign spokesman said obama "will continue to speak out about our responsibilities to ourselves and each other, and he of course accepts Rev. Jackson's apology."
Jackson supports Obama, but reportedly, the two are not close.
Meanwhile, Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. says he's disappointed by his father's "reckless statements." He added that the comments "contradict his inspiring and courageous career."
