Here’s one for you guys.
Something to think about:
Two Fox News journalists released in Gaza City on Sunday after being missing for almost two weeks said their kidnappers had forced them at gunpoint to say in a video that they had converted to Islam.
Steve Centanni, a 60-year-old American reporter, and Olaf Wiig, 36, a cameraman from New Zealand, were freed the day after expiration of a deadline set by the kidnappers for the US to free all its Muslim prisoners.
Mr. Centanni said the videotape of him and Mr Wiig announcing their conversion to Islam was made under duress. The video was seen as a face-saving device by the kidnappers after they abandoned earlier demands.
The New York Sun reports that the Palestinian terrorist group, Holy Jihad Brigades, offered the kidnapped journalist three choices: conversion to Islam, paying the jizya (non-Muslim tax paid to their Muslim masters) or war [death]. The journalists chose the “conversion” option. This is said to be another example of the Islamic war against Western nations being religious in nature rather than political.
Centanni said: "I changed my name to Khaled. I have embraced Islam and say the word Allah."
A separate statement from the captors said: "They chose Islam and that is a gift that God gives those whom he chooses."
The men were released just hours after their “conversion.”
If it had been you, what would you do?
While you are thinking about it, think about the consequences of not bowing to your captors demands, and let’s all sing together from an old Beatles song, “Here I stand head in hand….” or meditate on the headless horseman from The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
“God gave Him (Jesus) a name that is above every other name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2.9-11)
“There is salvation in no one else! There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them.” (Acts 4.12)
Choices, choices and as Dylan said: “You gotta serve somebody.”
