NEW DELHI - Hundreds of Christians have rallied in India's capital to protest attacks by Hindu mobs that have left dozens of Christians dead and thousands homeless.
Christians gathered in a New Delhi park Sunday to pray and listen to speeches in which community leaders urged the government to do more to protect the country's religious minorities.
The attacks on Christians have spread from Orissa to four other Indian states. Christians have been responsible for retaliatory attacks on Hindus in Orissa state.
Hard-line Hindu groups claim Christian missionary groups are forcing or bribing people to convert to Christianity. Christian churches deny anyone has been pressured or paid to change their religious beliefs.
Indian law allows missionaries but bars forced conversions.
