Retrial of Holy Land Terrorism Case Begins

DALLAS - Leaders of a Muslim charity are back on trial in the second attempt by federal prosecutors to convict the North Texas group on charges of financing terrorism.
Prosecutors urged jurors Monday in Dallas to "think like a terrorist organization" while hearing the government's case against the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development.
The group is accused of funneling millions of dollars to the Middle East group, Hamas, which the U.S. government considers a terrorist organization.
Attorneys for Holy Land leaders said during opening arguments that the group was not political and was dedicated only to providing humanitarian aid to victims of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
A trial against the group last year resulted in no convictions but a mistrial on most of the charges.
