ST. PAUL, Minn. - Former Washington Redskins head coach Joe Gibbs says he thinks life is a game and God is the head coach.
He told the Republican National Convention that throughout history, "when we follow God's game plan, his Bible, his word, it leads to success" for both individuals and countries.
And during this political season, he has high hopes for the GOP. Gibbs said the Republican party, led by John McCain and Sarah Palin, will be a part of a return to God's word that will lead America to a "spiritual revival so that God can truly bless America."
Gibbs missed the opening game between the Redskins and the New York Giants to speak at the convention.
