Trusting God for a Baby

–When Amanda and Daniel Talley married in 2010, they wanted to start a family right away.
“I always wanted a family, my husband and I knew when we got married that we wanted kids,” Amanda said, “just having someone to love unconditionally the way Christ loves us.”
But after 6 months of negative pregnancy tests, Amanda decided to visit her OB/GYN.
The diagnosis came as a shock.
“The doctor told us that I possibly had PCOS, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, where you have cysts on your ovaries and it makes it hard for you to have kids.”
The doctor told Amanda that she might only conceive through IVF (in vitro fertilization) or other fertility treatments.
“I was crushed. I was crushed. I was really sad and I just didn’t understand. You know, I was healthy. I had never really had any problems before and to be told that you’ll never have kids on your own is devastating.”
Amanda and David decided not to follow through with treatments. Instead, they prayed.
“It was mostly just pleading and asking ‘why, what do we do, what’s next?’”
“We never really got to the point where we 100% gave up. We both would have days where some days I was stronger, some days my husband would be stronger but we just really believed that one way or another we would have our baby, whether that was through having our own kids or adoption or whatever that would look like for us. So we never really lost hope but there were some hard moments, for sure.”
After a year of praying for a miracle, Amanda got an answer while watching The 700 Club.
“Gordon was talking about healing and he was talking about supernatural healing and telling stories of these miraculous things that God had done for people, and all of a sudden I hear Gordon say, ‘Amanda,’ and I look up.”
Gordon Robertson: There’s a lady named Amanda. You’re laying your hands on your abdomen, and you’re asking God, ‘Heal my ovaries and give me a baby.’ And God has heard your prayer. He’s responding. And you’re healed now. And He’s going to give you your heart’s desire. He’s going to give you that baby. Just believe in Him now. Believe it.
“I was just sobbing,” Amanda said. “I was just in the moment of, ‘I can’t believe this is happening.’ I knew he was talking to me. I had chills all over my body. Just this rush, this feeling I have never felt before. And I knew it was Him. I knew it was the Holy Spirit healing me in that moment.”
Just three weeks later, Amanda was pregnant. Ten months later, she gave birth to a baby girl named Reagan and today Reagan is a big sister to Adalyn.
“Science can’t explain it, the medical community can’t explain it, I can’t explain it,” Amanda said. “It was just a God moment and He completely healed me and I have two children to thank Him for that.”
“Now I understand more about how the Lord loves us. You know, He knows every single thing that we are thinking and what we are going through and it is just crazy. It’s just crazy this love that He has. It’s life changing. It’s 100% life changing.”
